Public shools are the best cause you experience a touch of real life. private and catholic schools shelter kids and make them arrogant, and people taught by nuns end up getting a fear of penguins, and believe "Happy Feet" is a horror movie. Boarding schools are expensive, dull, and a stupid idea where people learn to trust no one.

I like the public school I attend... (mostly) but I have nothing to compare it too, so I can't really argue one way or another.

Well... most private schools don't have marching bands. So public wins on that one.

All schools should be public schools.

I have to agree the public schools kick ass and they would kick even more ass if it wasn't for the No Child Left Behind thing.

atleast ur not ignorant...i like public schools, but i hate the requirements the state & country are forcing on us, they r just pointless & holds america's education back. "No Child Left Behind" or as i say "Every Child Left Behind", hold every child back 2 keep up with the slow kids

im not gonna go int2 detail on wut our state is making us do now, but we have 2 make a portfolio on our high school career, do a senior project (something like make a car), 30 hours of community service, & pass all of our classes. Here i am a student working my ass off trying 2 keep my GPA above 3.8 so i can get the sentenial scholorship 2 URI & then they throw all this shit on top

i like it...we can get away with a lot more...we sneek into the guys rooms to have fun...its nice wearing a uniform cause no one cares what you wear that way...so you're judged on shoes and hair instead...anyway, the teachers are good, small class size means you get more attention when you need help, but it also makes it harder to get away with stuff...no more paper notes, all cell texting there cause we are required to have one, and paper notes the teachers can read aloud, but they don't understand the text language...so, how goes public school?

Whate state do YOU go to?

in New York we jsut need to pass a certain amounts of statewide tests in a specific subject (biology, chemistry, english etc.) and they're really easy now because of No Child Left Behind

Most ppl jsut worry about the APs and inadvertantly prepare for the regents by prepping for the APs. A state mandated portfolio seems a bit much, plus New York doesn't require any community service, but most ppl would have enough just by trying to pack theri colelge transcripts.

Publics schools jsut suck depending on where you are, Mine's actually pretty good, theres a private school nearby, but the only ppl who go there are ppl who got kicked out of Public school.

a variety of kids, sports r huge in my school especially football (btw, Westerly Bulldogs, Turkey Day Rivalry Champs), classes r big so we can get away with stuff, but dont get much extra help. Sucks waking up at 5:45 every morning. & wut else is there 2 know, i think we can all agree that no matter wut type of school it is, they all suck

depends what district a public school is in. like all the MPS (milwaukee public school district) schools are rough. i had to go to one for like 2 months and it sucked. now i live in a 'suburb' of milwaukee called wauwatosa and wauwatosa schools are completely the opposite even though there both public. tosa schools are a lot nicer.

My schools' pretty stratified within the school, all the honors classes are pretty small and the teachers are really good, but when you get to the regular level courses the teachers suck, and more kids are taking the course.
