Ive had an idea, the judges nominate 5ppl to be the "Player of the Year."

Then the public, well other players vote for there favourite.

This a popularity contest, not a points contest.

Thoughts?

I like it...another twist would be to have more initially, like 20 (?) and take the top 5 from that for the final vote...an idea.....

Thats a tough one.....maybe take recommendations then the panel of judges selects 20 or so.....alot of nominations will come from clans for clansters which needs to bre taken into consideration...on the other had, those folks tend to be more active on site......hmmmmmm

Good idea (nominations + public vote)

I was thinking about how to deliver this as a live event. I looked at some sites that host "webinars" which are used by companies for training / meetings etc. Very cool (live audio/video, power point presentations, audience interaction) but very expensive ($0.33 / person / minute).

This event would happen after the X-mas update so we would have the new chat installed with multiple room support (see http://www.phpfreechat.net/demo.en.html).

So how about this: A screen with one chat room where only the hosts can type but all can see, one chat room for the audience to type, and one constantly refreshing poll form, for live voting?

how about, just a regular thread? the hosts will announce all this live on gabbly the live voting would be on the thread and those who missed the presentation just checks out the thread. just an easy and cheap way to do it

Most positive feedback
Most maps designed (If anyone actually has designed more than one map)
Most active in forums

Highest ranked Major. :D

First General.

Also the feedback ratio thing needs to be looked at. A ratio of 50:0 is the same as a ratio of 1:0, etc. Well actually neither of them are technically ratios, as you can't divide by 0. So yeah, is 50:0 better than 75:1 and other such questions...

I'd like you to consider adding/combining 'Favorite Cartographer'. This could take the place of "Most maps designed (If anyone actually has designed more than one map) ", or at least perhaps make it clearer?

Perhaps another idea of "Most 'Interesting' Forum Topic to Read". I know I have a few I'd nominate.
