I for one can't stand when celebrities don't give 2 cents about diseases UNTIL they get one! Where was your compassion before your diagnosis???? It just seems like self-centered, "I have it, so PLEASE help!" crap to me.

For those of you who do not know I was diagnosed with MS in 1990. I didn't give to MS fund raisers before I was diagnosed OR after.

Rush Limbaugh critisized Fox by saying that he skipped taking his meds to get the desired "jerky" effect for the ad. But according to Rush Fox didn't skip his meds, he over-medicated (which apparently brings the same results).

The babies that embryonic stem cell research are killing could have grown up to be, say, a great leader of a country, an important scientist. More importantly, they would have grown up to be a person like you. How would you liberals feel if people started killing grown people, children, and elderlies, for their stem cells. Worse, they couldn't do anything about it! You'd be out on the street with your sign, advocating what's right. So what difference does it make if they're not born yet? And it's a bit selfish to think: "This baby should die just so I can get a cure for a disease that could be helped with medication." There are other forms of stem cell research that don't involve death of human beings who can't defend themselves which I strongly support.

Do you honestly believe every embryo is going to be harvested and used? After years they break down like all other organic matter...and will have just spent their "life" in a freezer. There is research that uses these damaged embryos which follows the argument that it's alright to use embryos after they have reached a certain age Wow it's the complete opposite of the abortion debate. Is there any uproar over that?

People freeze their embryos, especially people who are going through In Vitro fertilization. Not every one of these embryos is going to get used so we either let these other embryos stay in a freezer for all eternity, or we use these embryos to help find cures for degenerative and mutative diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, CJD, etc.

Personally, sacrificing a potential life to help millions seems like a worthy sacrifice, and since this embryo isn't a person nor is it sentient (it started growing and was then frozen to sub zero temperatures, suspending its life), can the pro-lifers kindly stop twisting language and the laws of nature (that God Himself wrote) to rewrite what should or shouldn't be done.

Nothing on this planet has a right to life, it has a chance at life. Medicine is man's attempt to rewrite this sad fact, and religion is one way for man to cope with this fact.

Soon, the handycap will be killed for the betterment of mankind, the elderly.... to rid society of a "useless" people. It is the lessening of human life that has brought us to this point. Step outside of yourself and look at the world through the eyes of a child who's mother has decided is not fit to live.
