It's definitely NY from a different era... when it was shadier/more dangerous. Basically pre-Giuliani NY.

It's that part of NY which is the most god-forsaken. It's taking the crime from every major city, throw in the most dark parts of NY, Chicago and Vegas and pouring some gothic-sauce on it.

It needs more gothic-ness. Add some Gothic Juice and you might have something there...

As you can see, nobody even gives a flying rat's ass about Superman. Why would you think that is?

He hasn't aged well. Firstly, the underwear tights.

Secondly his powers. Back in the day, he was invincible. He could literaly move planets, kinda like Chuck Norris. But now, some dude with bony hands was able to kill him. He is a shadow of his former self.

Plus, the writing of his comic isn't so hot. Though the movie was nice.

I loved that. Silver era Supes was so motherfucking powerfull he could basically do anything. He suffered from the same problem most superheroes have now but he was the first. I mean, at the moment Wolverine can face a nuclear blast point-blanc and survive but that is drowned out by all the other astonishingly powerfull superheroes. Superman didn't have the others to obscure his power.

Again, why the obsession with movies?

These are comic-book characters. They have been in comics, (in the case of Supes, Batman, The Spirit etc) since the 1930's.
Every so often someoe makes a film about them.

To see the movies as a prime source is like assuming Shakespeare works in Hollywood (after all, look how many movies there have been)

They are a fun alternate version. It's nice to see your "heroes" up on a screen. With the exception of the X-MEN movies, those just piss me off.

But only so for Comic readers.

Batman is one of the few who did it on his own instead of being bitten by a fucking radioactive spider or being hit by a nuclear blast or being hit with cosmic radioactive rays or just being born with superawesome abilities. The hell is up with that anyway? Radioactivity kills! It doesn't give you awesome abilities!

Other none-super superheroes:

Robin
Nightwing
Batgirl
The Spirit
Green Arrow
The Punisher
Daredevil (almost)
Electra
Tarzan (and derivatives such as Ka-Zar)
Catwoman
Howard the Duck (yeah, he's a talking duck but he has no powers)
Most of the Watchmen
The whole Blackhawk outfit
Black Widow
Nick Fury (? - does he have some sort of regenerative power?)

There's others who aren't super themselves but have something that gives them powers such as Iron Man, Green Lantern.

Who else?

Incidentally, Batman is unusual in that most of his most famous enemies (especially from the early days) don't have powers either - eg Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, TwoFace, Mad Hatter, Ventiloquist, etc.

lol Howard the Duck...
Black Widow had the powers of foresight didnt see? to see into the future...

Yes@badman villains, the only MAJOR villains you can say had any kind of powers
1) Poison Ivy for her killer kiss
2) Clay face (Later in time! Originally clay face didnt have any powers, just a master of discuise, later he gained his morphing ability.... Also, I think Clay Face would be a kickass villain in the next movie ;) )

They could always go the Spiderman 3 route and have many villains in one movie... that way the movie could majorly suck. That's always an option.

There are a gillion lame attemps at cool.
I'm almost glad Robin died myself. But The Green Arrow is super-duper lame. And The Flash has a horride comic. Evey single friggin' one is the same.... "I'll run real fast and distract him." Zip!

Now the Green Lantern though.... He can make anything... I remember reading one where at the end of the comic he made a plane, and he and The Flash went inside. He had filled it with hot-babe-flight-attendants.

All I could think was "YOU IDIOT!!!!!"---he's had that ring since like the '40s.... and he only now gets the idea??? I would have been doing that all along.... Thanks gov'ment... SUCKA'S!
What an Idiot.

Most charactors in and around the JLA are lame for one reason or another.
