I was only wrong about militant... but then, I wasn't that suspicious of him at that point.

you're right; I remember that post now. That was really very impressive. I just remembered one of DRoZ's because it was more recent.

so are there any night scenes you guys want me to post? Or should I just start posting everything?

You may talk to eachother at night. Since you live in the same house, some night actions that target an entire residence will effect both of you.

You may talk to eachother at night. Since you live in the same house, some night actions that target an entire residence will effect both of you.

DRoZ wrote:You are an Old Lady. You are horribly upset by the recent events, and desire that the neighborhood returns to the peaceful tranquility you have known for the past 20 years since your retirement. You have always made a pastime of gossip, and spying on the neigbors via your trusty pair of binoculors and your upstairs window; now you vow to use this skill to help the best you can in the investigation. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

Every night, you choose to watch a someone's house. Whereas normal 'observations' do not always return useful results, you will learn something important every night, whether or not anything happens at that house.

Borox (later, ace) wrote:You are a Holy Man. You worked to become a priest for years, but at the last minute, you had a strange feeling that it was not the path God wanted for you, and instead you moved to the suburbs, walking to the city daily to help the needy. You are scared for the well-being of your friends and neigbors, but trust in God to keep you safe. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

You are immune from any night kills, and observations of you by both town and scum will be designed to keep you safe. In addition, you keep an ancient cerimonial dagger, and have a one-time night kill.

pmchugh (later, f1fth) wrote:You are a Dog Owner. You love your dog very much, and he has been your best friend for years. He is espeically intelligent, and you feel he has a special intuition. Every day, you may lead your dog up to any one person (PM your choice to me), and if that person killed the previous night, your dog will growl. After Ditocoaf's death, you knew that it was your duty to help your neighbors root out the problem. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

animorpherv1 wrote:You are a Locksmith. You used to work in a small town on the coast, but then last year you won the lottery, and decided to retire early. You fell in love with this neighborhood the instant you moved here, and are worried by the implications of the recent deaths. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

Every night, you may choose one person's house to be your target. You will change their locks, removing the weakness that allows everyone to break into eachother's houses (everyone keeps their spare key under the welcome mat). No-one will be able to enter this person's house for the night. Additionally, since you also lock the doors to the inside, this person will not be able to leave their house all night, until they find the key you slipped under the door in the morning light.

LSU Tiger Josh wrote:You are an Officer. You work in the police force because you have a passion for protecting the innocent and bringing wrongdoers to justice. You have taken two week's leave while you help to sort out this danger to your neighborhood. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

Each night you can choose to spend the night with any neighbor, protecting them from harm (they will know this). If you hear a noise of someone breaking in, the Crazy-Ass Nightime Hunt Game begins, in which you will play a game against the mystery assialant. If the intruder's intention is to kill, four outcomes will be possible, though you have an advantage: the intruder is killed, the house owner is killed, you are killed, or the intruder escapes. This game will also occur if you stay home and are targeted.

Please note that the person you protect is still able to sneak out and do stuff while you are there; but they will never be gone when an intruder arrives.

Macalester wrote:You are an Ex-President. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5).

Your prestige gives you an extra say in town deliberations, and in fact you will have an extra vote. Your extra vote should be PMed to me. This vote may be used as either a normal vote or a neg-vote, cancelling a vote on anyone, or even yourself.

militant wrote:You are a Coffee Addict. You win if all corrupt forces are destroyed (.5), and if you live to see it (.5). You play music downtown at bars for a living, but you prefer to spend your time in coffee shops. You not only feel an urgent need for caffiene every day, but you get crippling migraines until you can drink some coffee.

Your migranes cause you to be only capable of posting 3 words per post, all in italics. In order to buy coffee and end this post restriction for the day, you must "pay" FloresDelMal the Barista of the corner cafe. To do so, all you must do is place your vote on the same person that FloresDelMal currently has her vote on. You may later change it with no consequences.

If you go without buying coffee for three days, your addiction will be gone.

Skoffin wrote:You are a Suicide Bomber. You went insane in your home country, to the point you were a danger to society even in an asylum. But as your country had laws against killing the mentally ill, a government agency arranged to have you immigrate to America. Despite your affliction, you are capable of acting completely sane.

Your goal is to ensure the deaths of each of your three targets: cmckinney, animorpherv1, and borx0. (you recieve .3 for each target who dies, with a score of 1 if you are successful with all three.) You must primarily do this by causing their execution by the mob. If one of your targets is executed the day after your death, it will count towards your win condition.

You have a bomb that you can strap underneath your coat, and wear to the Neighborhood Watch meetings. If you are executed while wearing it, then you will explode, killing a target of your choise. Each night, PM me to decide whether to wear the bomb the next day, and who your target will be (you may change it during the day, up until the point you have enough votes for an execution). Be warned, however, that a careful observer may notice your bomb, and will figure out what it means by the next day.

FloresDelMal wrote:You are the Barista and owner of the corner coffee shop. You have plans to expand the store into a Super-Megacoffee-Megaconglamorate, but first you must aquire the land. You have recived financing from a successful buisnessman William18, who supports your plans. He has hired a local teenager, sam_levi_11, to spy on the neighborhood and help achieve your goals. In addition, your neighbor cmckinney has been bought out to aid your cause. You will all communicate at night over the phone.

You have determined that the only way to achieve the success you desire is by killing off the neighborhood. Every night, you will PM me a target. You win when your dream is realized (.5), and if you live to see it happen (.5).

William18 wrote:You are a successful Buisnessman and investor. You have invested in FloresDelMal, the local barista and owner of the corner coffee shop, who has plans to expand her store into a Super-Megacoffee-Megaconglamorate, but first you must acquire the land. You have also hired a local teenager, sam_levi_11, to spy on the neighborhood and help achieve your goals. In addition, your neighbor cmckinney has been bought out to aid your cause. You will all communicate at night over the phone.

You realize that there will come some resistance to your plans, but you will do anything for money. You have instructed FloresDelMal to begin killing off the neighborhood to prepare to buy up the land. Every night, you can drug a target of your choise (you will have slipped the stuff into their drink the evening before)--they will be unable to preform their night action, and will only recover halfway through the next day. You win when your dream is realized (.5), and if you live to see it happen (.5).

sam_levi wrote:You are a loser teenager with no goals in life. Well, to be precise, you do have many goals, but no foresight or intelligence to do anything about them. Your parents are away for the month on vacation, so you decided to skip school and hang out at home, playing video games.

This all changed, however, when William18, a successful businessman in the neighborhood, came by and offered you a "job". He has invested in FloresDelMal, the local barista and owner of the corner coffee shop. They have plans to expand his store into a Super-Megacoffee-Megaconglamorate, but first they must aquire the land. In addition, your neighbor cmckinney has been bought out to aid the cause. You will all communicate at night over the phone.

William18 is offering you an amazing amount of money, and while that may have seemed suspicious, you do not care in the least. You suddenly have a path to easy success, and have even become a partial owner in the scheme with your first paycheck. You don't even care when you find out that the plan includes killing off the neighborhood for the land.

Your job is to spy on your neighbors, by sneaking around their houses and seeing what they're up to. Choose a target and PM it to me at night. Whereas normal 'observations' do not always return useful results, you will learn something important every night, whether or not anything happens at that house. You win when the scheme is realized (.5), and if you live to see it happen (.5).

cmckinney wrote:You have been bought out by William18, a successful buisnessman and investor. He has invested in FloresDelMal, the local barista and owner of the corner coffee shop, who has plans to expand her store into a Super-Megacoffee-Megaconglamorate, but first the land must be aquired--by killing off the neighborhood. None of you really mind, as the money William18 has predicted is worth destroying any morals for. You have also hired a local teenager, sam_levi_11, to spy on the neighborhood and help achieve your goals. You will all communicate at night over the phone. You win when the plan is successful(.5), and if you live to see it happen (.5).

You have a fatal flaw, however--you come off as incredibly suspicious, and you know it. Anyone observing you is bound to notice your worst traits, and many will always think you're up to no good. With everyone in town looking into your deaths, you are likely to become a suspect.

So you have a plan--if, at any point, you feel that you are about to be killed by your neighbors, you can rat out one of your partners. This will only work if at least two of them is alive (not counting yourself). You need to publicly announce that you are a snitch, and name the person you wish to rat out. After you do this, you will be lynch-proof for the rest of the game. You must wait until that person is executed before even hinting at another member of your scheme--and I will be watching carefully. Breaking the rules of this will result in serious consequences. Your new win condition will be to survive to the end of the game--for 0.6 of a win point.

The "snitch" aspect of your role is completely optional, and you may choose to ignore it if you feel your plan is succeeding.

Night 1
LSU wrote:After arriving home. you started to prepare for the night at Macalaster's house. You grabbed your gun, some food left over from the day, and a stool to sit on while you waited... when you suddenly realized you felt very sleepy. The world started reeling, and you barely managed to hurl yourself at your couch before everything went black.

When you woke up, it was midday the next day. [You have been drugged. Your night action was invalid, and you may not post until I announce Midday on day 2].

DRoZ wrote:You get home, sit on your comfy chair by the upstairs window, and sit back, scouting out pmc's house for the night ahead. Peering through the crack in the curtains with your binoculars as darkness outside becomes absolute, you watch as pmc seems to be training his dog. He has two bags hanging from the ceiling, one of which he had dusted with gunpowder. With your skill at lip-reading, you see what he is saying: "Who's the murderer, boy? Who is it?" As he leads his dog past the gunpowder-laced pillow, it begins to growl.

He goes to sleep shortly after. The long night drags on uneventfully, and you also begin to doze off. You wake up again about an hour before sunrise, and decide to move yourself to bed for an hour's quality sleep. However, when you glance out the window on a whim, you're shocked to see a dark silhouette moving towards pmc's house. The person approaches the front door, takes the spare key from under the "Welcome" mat, and slips inside. Through his living-room window, you see the person approach his bedroom. You begin to reach for your phone to warn him, when suddenly the dog bursts through pmc's bedroom door, hurling itself at the dark shape. The intruder's gun goes off twice; the dog falls to the floor. pmc is instantly running out his bedroom door screaming, looking only at his fallen dog. The intruder quickly darts out the door again. As the figure disappears into the night, you make an effort to remember the only detail about them you could see: They were fairly tall, about 6 feet.

[you and you alone may now specifically ask for someone's hight while performing a normal "observation"]

FloresDelMal wrote:You wake up, and sneak towards pmc's house about one hour before sunrise. Taking his spare key from under his "welcome" mat, you slip in the door. You turn the safetey switch on your gun to "off, and walk quickly towards his bedroom door. Suddenly, you hear a hellishly loud barking noise, and his dog bursts from the door, lunging at you. Panicking, you fire the gun twice, and back up. You see pmc's door start to open, and you think he has a weapon. Afraid of being caught, you turn to run out the door, and disappear into the night. You're fairly certain that pmc did not recognize you.

sam_levi_11 wrote:In the middle of the night, scared shitless, you approach Mac's door. You take his spare key out from under his "welcome" mat, and slip inside quietly. You search around the house for a while, without finding anything of interest. Finally, at his desk, you find something you think is worthwhile: his journal. In yesterday's entry, he writes, "Most people don't seem to notice, but I have a feeling that during these Watch meetings, my high standing lends more credibility to my words. People seem to trust my opinions more than other's without even realizing it. I must be careful to avoid using this influence against other good people, by accident."

You're not quite sure what this means, but you realize it's getting light soon. You hastily replace his journal, and slip back out the door. As you enter your own house again, you hear two gunshots. You shudder with both fear and apprehension (and a little bit of disgust), as you realize that everything is going according to plan.

pmchugh wrote:You spent the early night testing and training your dog's ability to detect a murderer. Finally, you went to bed, confident in your dog's excellent ability to do what is needed. As you drifted off to sleep, you looked forward to the next day, when you would hopefully catch the killer and put an end to this mess.

You awoke to some loud noises about an hour before dawn. You heard your dog barking louder than he ever had before, and growling like crazy. You heard a sudden scream, and two gunshots. You grabbed the baseball bat by your bed, and ran out into the hall. You barely noticed the dark shape disappearing out your front door, as all your attention was on something else, lying on the floor--the fallen, dead body of your beloved dog. It had attacked the intruder, and in doing so, had given its life to protect you. You fell to your knees, tears welling up in your eyes, and began to sob.

You now have an updated role: Depressed Man. Your win condition is still the same, but you no longer have your ability. Furthermore, you have two new limitations: You may only post six times per game day, and you may no longer vote. Remember the rules--do not say you have a PR, but you may say that you are "too depressed to _____".

It was interesting writing the same scene from three points of view.

What do you think of cmc's role? Was it too screwy?

Yay, I won  I love being third party killers. I was disappointed with my own performance though, I had fake claims prepared from the beginning but I kept having to change them as I went on. By the time I did get to fake claiming I started off with the wrong one, and so had to bullshit my way through it fast so it didn't look like I was making stuff up as I went along. I'm pleased it worked out in the end though, pity I didn't use the other stuff I thought of though :P

Ha and well done Will, you are getting far better at this then I expected. Next time I'm lynching you though :P

Night 2
DRoZ wrote:You arrive home, and begin to scan your phone cards for some good gossip sources, hoping to find something out about militant. You had just found the number of someone who knew someone who knew militant well... when you suddenly realized you felt very sleepy. The world started reeling, and you fell backwards into your desk chair as everything went black.

When you woke up, it was midday the next day. [You have been drugged. Your night action was invalid, and you may not post until I announce your awakening during day 3].

Macalester wrote:You arrived home, and prepared for bed. Before turning in, however, you had the sudden urge to flip through some of your old photo albums... you saw the history of a life well-lived. Your aspirational youth; your happy family life with your wonderful wife and children; your rise to fame that was full of integrity, and therefore slow; and the eight short years in the white house that constitute what the public sees as your most important, but to you seem like a small, quickly passing fragment of a varied life. During those years, however, you'd like to think you had a positive impact on the country. After you left office, your wife succumbed to cancer eight years later, and with your children off in Europe, you had little else to do but retire to an out-of-the-way neighborhood. Despite the worrisome craziness going on now, you feel at peace... content and satisfied. You turn out the light, and for some reason, the action seems to have a sense of finality to it.

In the middle of the night, you hear a bump at the foot of your bed. Opening your eyes, you see a dark figure move at you with one of your living-room pillows. You are too old to put up any resistance, and soon, as your breath leaves you, you know nothing more.

Flores wrote:Tonight's kill goes off without a hitch. You slip into Mac's house find his bedroom, and move in. Mac, sleeping heavily, looks much older than usual--while he is awake, he controls himself so confidently that nobody notices his age. You decide to use a pillow this time, so as not to make any noise. You slip back out into the living room, and grab a pillow from his couch. Approaching him, you bump the bed, and it wakes him, but as soon as his eyes are open, you cover his face with the pillow and hold it. He does not struggle.

You walk quietly but quickly out of the back door of his house, and hop the fence twice to reach your own yard. You can feel the impending success of your plans...

sam_levi wrote:Reaching Ink's and mr. i's house, you slip inside and being looking for something about ink. Again, all you can find of interest is their diaries. You almost burst out laughing as you read their latest entries--they have essentially identical sentences in their entries for the last day. "I just don't know what I would do without _____," they say, "this whole situation worries me to no end." Reading on, there is further display of sickeningly mushy romance. They've stapled in love notes to each other. "You're all I have. I'd just go mad without you."

Not sure whether you actually learned anything, but amused nonetheless, you carefully replace the books and move quietly outside.

Night 3
f1fth (formerly pmchugh) wrote:You lie in bed, staring at the ceiling. You got no sleep last night, and you don't expect to get any more. You're just starting to recover from the shock of losing your companion, but overwhelming sadness has been replaced by a sort of thick heavy shell. Between that, and the continuing drama in the neighborhood, there is a lot to think about.

Hours later, you hear your front door open. It takes a few moments before sudden thought shakes you out of your thoughts -- you jump out of bed (hitting your knee on your nightstand), and sneak (limp) towards your bedroom door. You grab the first blunt weapon you can find (a small novelty statue you got as a birthday gift from a relative, that you haven't found a place to keep yet). First, you put your foot in front of your bedroom door, then slowly let a crack form. You peer out, but see nothing. You clutch the statue like a baseball bat, and step into the hall quietly. A few steps later, you hear a creak from behind--this is the last thing you will ever hear.

Thanks very much for subbing, f1rth. Sorry you had to be killed off so quickly. Hope to see you around mafia more; I missed your previous 'glory days'. ;)

FloresDelMal wrote:It's starting to feel normal, slipping out of bed in the middle of the night. As you enter F1rth's yard, you're acting on autopilot. You make a bit too much noise closing his door, but no matter -- the past two kills have increased your confidence, and you see no reason you shouldn't be successful tonight. However, as you ascend the stairs, you hear a clatter from F1fth's bedroom. Startled and panicked, you dart up the stairs as quietly and quickly as possible, and duck into his hall closet. Watching through a crack in the door, you see F1fth's door slowly open, and he steps out, clutching something like a weapon. You put away your gun, and find yourself reaching for a candlestick from the closet's shelf. Fortunately, he walks away from you. Acting on impulse, you jump out while his back is still turned, and hit him on the head with the candlestick, hard. He drops to the floor. You hit him again, and see a trickle of blood. Pocketing the candlestick, you dart down the stairs, out the back door, and over fences until you reach your own house.

Ascending the stairs to your own bedroom, you hear a creak. You pause for a second, listening -- but then you silently laugh to yourself. All this excitement has made you paranoid, you think. But as you take your next step, you feel a blade in your back -- turning around as you fall, you see Borox0, looking scared but determined. Your vision fades to red, then to black.

You have been killed. Thanks for playing! Do not reveal any information to any players from this point on. You've been great, flores. Hope to have you in another game soon.

borox0 wrote:It's about an hour until sunrise when you finally raise the courage to head out and do what you've decided. You're worried that it's too late, and that she might be awake, but then you figure that if she is, then you'll deal with that -- but to wait another night would be a night too many. You enter Flores' house with her spare key (which is kept under the "welcome" mat). As you approach her upstairs bedroom, your heart beats faster and faster... which is why you nearly faint when you see her bed empty. You quickly turn around, but soon have scoured the house, and see no trace of her. You're in her kitchen, and are just about to give up and leave, when you hear her ascending the staircase. You slip into the hall and press yourself against the wall by the top of the stairs. She pauses; apparently hearing you move -- but soon you hear a quiet laugh, and another step. Moving quickly, you step towards her, and place the knife forcefully in her back -- you're sickened by the feeling as it goes in easier than you expected. She screams as she turns around, and looks you in the face with an odd expression of confusion. You're horrified by what you have done -- you're a priest! What if she were innocent? You turn to run, but suddenly double back, flipping her body over, very awkwardly, to grab your dagger. You notice a large ornamental candlestick fall out of her pocket as you do so, but you pay it no attention, as it's just too confusing to think about now. You step outside to the blinding light of a rising sun just clearing the horizon, and sprint, heart pounding, scared and shaken. You don't know who you are anymore.

You just get home and peer out your curtains, to see the first of your neighbors start to shuffle outside.

Your role is now Fallen Priest. You do not care for your own happiness, so your win condition is now only to see to the safety of your neighbors (1 point if town wins). You have even given up on your own salvation in heaven, so you will do whatever it takes -- you may target a player to kill every night. However, you are so psychologically shaken that you appear very suspicious. Observations are more likely to reveal incriminating results.

Inkl0sed keels over, and you have to lunge to catch her before she crashes to the floor. Nothing you try will wake her, and eventually you just carry her to her bed (you often sleep in separate beds, so that you actually get some sleep ;) ).

In the morning, you will be able to post only until there is a total of seven posts by active players. After that you will be staying with ink, and cannot speak until he wakes up.

First, just to be safe, you throw out all your food, and order some more groceries to be delivered. You have a very good view of mil's house (he has a lot of windows), so good, in fact, that you can see him the entire night. He does not get on the phone, or do anything exceptionally unusual. He microwaves some leftovers for dinner, and watches a bit of TV before heading to bed. You notice that he's still drinking some coffee that he brought home, but that's not unusual for him... though it is worrisome that he seems to have that much of a dependency on it. You're so well-rested from being asleep all day, that you are able to watch him until dawn, and the next meeting -- he has had no contact with anyone between meetings.

(I'm giving you an extra-good observation, by way of compensation. You can trust this; no hidden messages here).

sam_levi wrote:In ink's house again, you look into their bedroom quietly. You notice that they sleep in separate beds.

okay, I give up. you and will have been looking at them so very often that I'm running out of in-character things to say. I'm not going to come out and explain everything about their character or their roles, So I'm just gonna tell you this (explicitly tell you what I've been trying to hint at all along):

1) They have identical characters and roles.
2) Neither of them have night actions.
3) It is possible to kill one without being caught by the other; in case that's what you're wondering (they are very sound sleepers))

Oh, I'll answer this now (I'm re-reading everything that was said while I was busy posting stuff). LSU's role meant that he would stay over at someone's house to protect someone. He sent a PM saying "stay with Mac", which he meant to send to me as his protection choice. But, the wording was unfortunate, because it looked like scum night talk. #-o ;)

Still re-reading everything I missed, and I want to say "thank you" to the following comments:

Thanks

The game ran very smoothly witha few twists(good kind).
All in all it was a really good game.

yeah, the observations turned out better than I thought they would. But they were a frickin' pain to keep track of, and try to keep balanced.
sam_levi_11 wrote:yer dito, im not the most experienced mafia player....25 games i think, but this is easily the best, and i put my all into it...and did quite well. sure was fun being scum

sam_levi_11 wrote:make sure to involve just as diverse roles as thats what made it fun, a politician, newlyweds, coffee adict, terorist (sorta)wer all unexpected. wonder what youll come up with...

Yeah... I figured as long as I was doing a mafia with extensive in-character elements, I might as well choose as mundane of a scene as I could think of. That was the inspiration for most of this. Having it set in the suburbs made it interesting to characterize the roles... I had to think, "who would live in a suburb, that would try to do ___?" (except for the terrorist role, obviously. That was a bit of a juxtaposition.) I actually thought up the barista/addict relationship first, and then I had to develop the scum group... when I chose the barista role to be scum (since it didn't have anything else very interesting), I started thinking about how I could develop a motivation for the scum... and the corporate takeover thing just kind of evolved from it. I guess I got some social commentary in.

Thats a good theme. An apocolyptic city is tender with opportunities.

Well, by "dystopia" I'm thinking more like 1984 and Brave New World-type game. It could be interesting, because the "town" side wouldn't necessarily be the 'good guys'...

by "spiritual successor", I mean that the game will be the same sort of game this one was. With observations, long scenes (so I guess Fircoal can't play), and the same general feel.

InkL0sed wrote:Hmm... yeah, the sequel to this should definitely be in a city...

that's an idea... thought I'm looking to choose somewhere just as unusual as a Neighborhood is for mafia. I was considering a desk-job office, but I can't think of a good story for that, so I'm musing on it.

Great job on this Dito. I really enjoyed it -- by far the most intricate game I've seen. If you make another, I will definitely be in it.

And town, you guys owe me for saving Borox. If he had been lynched, Flores never would have been killed.

Yeah, same here, it was fun. I guess I can see why I was lynched Day 1, a little bit, It was fun while I was in it! I actuallyu watched sometimes after I died, which is rare, and I loved this game! You have to make a sequel

Wow wonderful job modding dito... Damn you sam, if only mili could have believed me and ink about you, this whole thing would have turned out differently. I didn't really feel that bad about the lsu lynch, it sucked to lose such a power role but the guy did have that major slip up and I am sure everyone would have been suspicious of him even if he did live. William your role did reek of scum after everything came out about flores and I must admit that I underestimated you dramatically with your claim... I honestly didn't believe you wrote that. I was shocked at how long cmc's character lasted, with his background it just seemed too obvious to lynch him, although the too obvious part may indeed be what kept him alive. Another thing I read into earlier was I was dead on intent on saying ink was scum, I literally had two entire sheets of paper filled to the brim with incriminating evidence against him until his big town post, with the theory that turned out dead on, I have never felt like I had wasted more time writing in my entire life, lol. There at the end I was sure that mili, ink and myself were town and I was about 85% on ace, but like I said earlier, there was a deadline, and only one lynch to make. I was a bit surprised to learn that ink was third party SK after MIB died, but it makes sense. Overall it was a great game and I had a lot of fun. Thanks dito.

Night 4
DRoZ wrote:Watching Skoffin sitting at a desk by the window, you notice that she seems to be writing the same thing on a piece of paper, over and over again. She writes three words. She crosses out the first, crosses out the second -- her pencil hovers over the third for a brief moment -- then she writes the same three words again. Suddenly, she stands up and quickly paces to her closet pulls it opens, and looks at something on the shelf, that you can't quite make out. She shuts the door just as suddenly, and sits down again... returning to that same repetitive action.

Eventually, she falls asleep at her desk. Mystified and surprised by this strange behavior, you turn in for the night.

ace (formerly borox) wrote:Having decided to wait for a night before doing anything more, you start to prepare for bed early. As you fall asleep, you begin to feel sickly, but you think nothing of it... until you wake up at noon the next day. Horrified at having slept in so late, you jump up and run to the meeting hall.

[You have been drugged. Your night action (if any) was invalid, and you may not post until I announce your awakening during day 5].

sam_levi wrote:Sneaking over to William's house, you walk quietly through his unlocked front door (since he knows who the "bad guys" are, he doesn't bother protecting himself). In his suitcase, you see the ownership papers for Flores's business... they had become partners, but now he is the sole owner. Also in there is his copy of the contract you both signed; you're set to work a fairly high managerial position, and after he puts you through business school, you'll be in the top management. You see nothing to explain why he would betray cmc... it must be a part of his plan to solidify himself as innocent in his neighbor's eyes.

You then prepare for the bigger task... the one that has been eating at you all day. You thought, when Flores died, that you might be the one to do the killing... cmckinney's death made it certain. So far you had managed to ignore the morals of the actual killing, so long as someone else was doing it. All you had to do so far was trespass, and that's hardly a major crime. Now, you had to confront whether it was worth the money and success, to kill someone. But no -- no need to think about that now. Not while you're on your way. You push the issue into the back of your mind, so that you don't screw up, distracted. Slipping into mr. i's and ink's house the way you have twice before, you touch the bottle in your pocket. Their bedroom is open, so you step through as quietly as you can. Luckily, mr. i's bed is closer, so you go straight there, and with barely a thought, pull out the bottle, unscrew the cap, and let a few drops fall into his open mouth. You hold your breath--he doesn't wake up. So you pour a little bit more in, then quickly move towards the door as you screw the lid back on. No problem, you think, this was barely anything to worry about. Soon, you're back in your bed, waiting for morning.

mr. incrediball wrote:In the middle of the night, you suddenly wake up, not quite sure why. You hear your front door close, and start to get up... but your head is spinning, and pounding. You feel weak -- weaker than you ever thought possible. You fall back into bed, and you realize that you can't see a thing; everything is just redness, all around you. You realize that these are your last thoughts...

You wonder if there ever really was a chance for any of you to survive.
You wonder if you and Ink were as good as dead, the day you moved here.
You're glad, that at least you never had to see your beloved spouse die.

Congratulations, you have won! Thanks for playing, incrediball. It's been great having you. Check back when the game's over; I'll be releasing all the details from the game, including role PMs, and every night scene anyone received.

inkl0sed wrote:You wake up slowly, drifting back into consciousness. Looking out the window, you see that it's shortly before sunrise. You smile, and turn to look at incrediball. You notice... the blood pouring from his mouth and eyes. You let out a horrific scream.

Though the scream only lasted a few seconds, in your experience it lasted several hours of agony, which felt like many years. In fact, your life flashes before your eyes -- in slow motion. You discover that the only time you were happy, is when you were with your spouse. You discover that his sudden loss has not only torn out your heart, but torn out your very being, especially your sanity. You've never gotten along well with people, in general. Now you decide that all your life you have only been tolerating people, while you spent your time either waiting for your love, or blissfully spending your time with him. You hate them all. They will never know the depth of loss that you are experiencing now. You can see your future: lonely, miserable... putting up with everyone's apologies and pity, until they tire of your grief and wish that you would just get over it. It won't be tolerable! The nerve of them all, to pity you, when you have known happiness beyond what they ever will, as well as sorrow deeper than human understanding. You can't see what right they even have to live!

Your role is now Mad Widow. You have lost all hope for happiness, but have replaced happiness with a weak substitute: other people's pain. Every night, you MUST choose a target to kill. Each person you successfully murder, will gain you 0.1 of a win point. If you happen to kill the person who murdered your spouse, that will return 0.3 of a win point instead.

We are awakened by a loud, long scream. In a coincidence that would otherwise be amusing, everyone emerges from their front doors at the same time. Looking around, there are two front doors still unoccupied -- ace borox's, and the newlyweds' house. Realizing that it was Inkl0sed who screamed, everyone runs there, and hurries to the room where the sobbing is coming from. Inklosed is sitting up in bed, staring at mr. incrediball, who has blood pouring out of his mouth and eyes. Ink has the strangest look on her face that they had ever seen... beyond misery, or horror, or even pain. It is all three of these things, combined with a look that is not inhuman, but the opposite... human. They cover incrediball with a sheet, then leave Ink to her misery while they cross the street to ace's house. Inside, luckily, they find he is only sleeping, in bed. But, as they had come to expect, nothing would wake him. They return to the meeting hall for the fifth time, and soon inkl0sed shows up, dressed in black.

Night 5
sam_levi wrote:At militant's house, you find no coffee, anywhere. You discover his journal (I'm feeling low on creativity today), where you discover that he is overcoming his coffee addiction, and is feeling better than ever, even though he is scared shitless by the wave of killings.

…Killing DRoZ is much easier than killing MIB was last night... sneaking upstairs, you discover her sitting, asleep, in a chair by her window. It appears that she had been watching the neighborhood with her binoculars, but had fallen asleep. It is a simple task to grab her chair and push it through the window. The crashing noise deafens you, as her window shatters into millions of tiny pieces. Panicked, you run outside... but apparently no-one woke up. Her body is lying dead on the floor, to frail to survive the fifteen-foot drop.

You walk down the street towards your house, when suddenly you hear footsteps behind you. Swerving around, you can barely make out the dark shape of Inkl0sed, dressed all in black. "You did it, didn't you?" she screeches in a hoarse whisper. She is screaming and crying, as quietly as she can manage. "You killed my husband!!!!" Your mind races as you begin to stammer out an answer, when suddenly she leaps at you. Her hands around your throat, you find yourself fighting off more force than you could have ever believed was in that frail body. You feel your head bash against the pavement, and feel liquid ooze down the back of your neck. As your vision begins to swim, you can barely make out Ink, as she pulls out a knife, and brings it down.

It just isn't fair! You were finally beginning to make something of yourself! You were going to go places! You had prospects! Why?

Thanks for playing! Please check back when the game's over, I'll be posting all the information from the game, including Roles and Night Scenes upon request.

DRoZ wrote:After making your way home, you sit in your chair by the upstairs window. It's late, but you figure you can still do some "sightseeing" before you go to sleep. But no, you find yourself dozing off, with the binoculars still around your neck. You sleep heavily, as you are worn out from a long week... suddenly, you feel a lurch. Your high-backed, comfy chair is being pushed forward! You see the window fly towards your head, and now you are falling, falling fifteen feet to the ground, shards of glass scattered around you, apparently motionless for the longest three seconds of your life. Your old, frail frame cannot take such a fall, and everything quickly fades away.

Then, without any apparent instigation, you stand up and turn to walk outside again. You move silently, quickly, formally, yet without purpose. Your only thought is, "someone must die"... and tonight, that someone is sam_levi. Outside, on the street, you have no worries about being seen -- you're still dressed all in black. Without warning, you hear a crashing sound from DRoZ's house... you see her, still sitting in a chair, falling out the window. Moving towards the commotion, you notice that nobody else seems to have been woken by this. Then, you see sam_levi himself appear out the front door of DRoZ's house. He does not see you, and after looking around worriedly for a few seconds, he begins to make his way down the street. Tears well up in your eyes as you realize that he was the one. Choking back a scream, you follow after him, quickly gaining ground. Suddenly he seems to hear you, and whirls around. He squints into the darkness, and he apparently sees you now. "You did it, didn't you?," you screech. You are half-crying, half screaming, yet you somehow manage to whisper. He looks back at you blankly, confirming your accusation. You feel the murderous rage in you double, and silently scream, "You killed my husband!!!!" You leap at him, your hands find his neck effortlessly. A strength you never knew you had wells up inside you, and you hurl his head against the ground, a barely noticeable pained noise escaping from his mouth. His eyes begin to roll, but you aren't done. Pulling out a knife from your clothing, you jam it deep into his heart. Then, regaining your soft demeanor, you quietly walk back home.

militant wrote:After a few days without coffee, you're feeling much better. In fact, you don't think you need caffeine anymore. Your headaches are now gone, only resurfacing when you stay up too late. You're feeling great, happier than you have in a long time, for having overcome your dependency.

Your role is now Recovered Addict. You still have the same win condition (0.5 town win, 0.5 survive), but you have earned an additional 0.2.

I will be converting this game into a book. :)

Actually, all I'd need to do is copy/paste... and write a little bit to summarize each day, quoting some of what you guys said. Maybe sometime that I have waaay too much free time?
