New Tournament & Map Maker medal style

Postby Natewolfman on Fri Jun 27, 2008 4:12 pm

Concise description:
  • Instead of just counting up roman numerals for every tournament hosted, and every map made, perhaps space it out into 3 separate medals.

Specifics:
  • map/tournament 1-9 will be as it is, roman numberals on the same plaque
  • For every 10 tournaments or maps made you get a silver plaque (each roman numeral represents 10)
  • For every 100 tournaments or maps made you get a gold plaque (again each roman numberal represents 100)
EXAMPLE:
I have 153 tournaments
I get gold plaque with "I" on it, Silver plaque with "V" on it, current wooden plaque with "III" on it.
I have 28 maps
I get silver plaque with "II" on it, current wooden plaque with "VIII" on it.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • It will give a more awe inspireing look for those who have done multiple tournaments
  • This will also put those players who "must have every medal so im going to organize 1 tournament no matter how crappy to get it" into a possition whare they leave it to the professionals or improve there own standard to achive what they want.

3 different ones is just going to take up more space. Right now it goes up to 30, something very few organizers are going to reach.

nobody will make 100 maps ;)
and i'm inclined to say the same about tourneys even if they are easier to do than maps.

Which is the exact reason we DON'T want to make a medal like that with such a requirement. If you think the phase of half-baked tournaments right now shortly after the medals were announced are bad, imagine if someone wants to quickly get to 100.

Right now, they get one for 1, and sooner or later they are going to say to themselves "Alright, that's good. I'm done."
