the real football is way better because anyone can play it even if they're rich or poor wheras american football can only be played in certain places with loads of grass, the real football you can play in the grass, mud, concrete, rubber, clay yu name it anywhere and loads more people watch real football then american football, and yes rugby is better and i think if the USA puts their mind to it they can make a really good rugby team

Grass is only for official games. Sometimes astro turf is used instead. I've played on gravel, dirt, mud, whatever.

As you are hinting, it was in the US.
They reached the UK when Mr Smith (yes, he of Smith's Crisps) discovered them in France and liked them.
In France they were also called "chips", but in the UK that word was already taken, so they became crisps in Britain, and have always been crisps in Britain, but chips in most other places.
Now can we stop effin taking about it?
