Anybody here ride 4-wheelers(quads)?

Postby Blastshot on Thu Jun 12, 2008 9:53 am

If so post what you have.

I got an old Honda Fourtrax 250 from 86, and a modded Polaris Sportsman 400 thats a 94.
If someone described asked me to describe myself in one word, that word would be: Rocker

If I had a nickel for every instance I've seen quads have a negative impact on a tract of land, I could probably afford an ATV.

That might have been a statement that would cause a childish mentality to yawn. Carry on, young one.

That's funny...
I was riding 3-wheelers (before outlawed) and 4-wheelers before your mommy was wiping your ass.

So go ride your bike over to the organic farm, hug a tree, and garb a tofu sandwich while you sing "We Are The World" with your green peace brethren and girls with hairy armpits...

I'll go and fill my 2-stroker up with high octane and rip up Mt. Greylock laughing at you.

I'm glad you're proud to be old. But perhaps you should discard your hideously outdated opinions with your shit-filled depends this evening. Don't break a hip on Greylock.

With age comes wisdom.

Don't worry, when you finally move out of your parents' house (~32 or so), you'll understand.

I don't know that wisdom comes from leaving a household. It's silly nonsense like that which shows that I should not have any respect for your opinion. Try getting an education. Now that's wisdom.

Unfortunately, that's what this pathetic forum has come to. You ask a perfectly harmless question about a hobby you're involved in, and some ignorant tool feels compelled to chime in.
Hence my response to the tool.....

So anyways......

There's lots of trails around here where I live. Some competition events too, but I've never been involved that deeply to enter something like that.

Ignorance really is bliss, isn't it?

The silly nonsense was you sticking your .02 where it didn't belong.
If you want to debate whether 4-wheelers are destroying the ecosystem, then start your own thread on the topic.
Blastshot just wanted to find out if anyone else here shared a hobby of his.

Fortunately, I am educated. You gain knowledge with education.
You gain wisdom from life experience.
It is clear you have neither.

My advice to you is to just keep to your bean sprout, dressing-free salad and your hemp sandals, and let others enjoy their own conversations.......

Pardon me for destroying such a raging conversation, gramps. Your initial contribution of absolutely nothing brought the thread right back on track. Anyhow, if you don't understand how the interblag works, you should leave it to us whippersnappers who know what the hell is going on. I'm done with the flaming, however. I've got old-people goo all over me, and I'm not sure how many showers it'll take to get off...

Those hemp sandals sound delicious. How do you cook them and what beer do you serve with that?

Aren't those hiking trails, Iz?

And do you try to drive your ATV up into the observation tower, too? Shame to actually have to walk anywhere.

Serious Question, please don't be offended, I'm speaking in light of this comment, with big-time respekt for your brewing prowess:

What is it like for you to live in MA?

I understand you live in Western MA, but do you commute Eastward? Even in Western MA, you can't be terribly removed from contemporary New England life in general.

Seriously, I'm just curious, and this thread brought it out.

Do most of your neighbors share this kinda aspect of your outlook on life?

There are hiking, driving, and ATV/snowmobile trails up the mountain.
I've done all.
Quite the view from the tower, no ramps to drive up though........afraid you'll have to hoof it up to the observation point. 8-)

Now that I think about it, I guess I drive to the top when I visit Mt. Greylock, so I really don't have a foot to stand (or walk) on. That memorial and the tower thing is pretty sweet. Decent view, too, IIRC ;)

I travel throughout the entirety of New England all the time. As a matter of fact, I've put over 2,600 miles on my truck in the past 2 weeks and I haven't left the state.
With my "non-contemporary New England" view of things, I'm guessing you think I'm confined to "small town" living?
Rest assured I am a world traveler, have seen and experienced all walks of life, and have circumnavigated the globe (twice actually).
How do most of my neighbors feel? Not sure; my guess is the majority are pretty conservative.

Bottom line:
Will I exaggerate ripping up the "environment" to make a point? Sure, as an avid outdoorsman, I love the outdoors.

Do 4-wheelers rip up the environment? No.

Sometimes one must be absurd to point out the absurd.
