I don't think it is.
The USA sucks at football, isn't the game you lot were born to play.

Back to the 2006 WC, if I remember correctly, we never scored a goal. The only reason we tied Italy was because they scored on themselves...

No, but they seem to be getting better. Not good enough to be any competition to England, but better than they were.

They do compete...look at the world rankings:

1 Argentina
2 Brazil
3 Italy
4 Spain
5 Germany
6 Czech Republic
7 France
8 Greece
9 Portugal
10 Netherlands
11 England
12 Romania
13 Croatia
14 Ghana
15 Scotland
16 Cameroon
17 Mexico
18 Bulgaria
19 Colombia
20 Israel
21 USA
22 CƓte d'Ivoire
23 Sweden
24 Paraguay
25 Turkey
25 Russia
27 Poland
28 Uruguay
29 Norway
30 Egypt

Better than Sweden, Ireland, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Australia, Belgium, Serbia, Ukraine and Nigeria....all of whome are strong teams. Although, the fifa rankings system is flawed, in the sense that Greece, Ghana, Spain, Scotland, Israel and Ivory coast are all grossly over-ranked.

Plus, at least USA qualify for all of their major competitions, unlike the fucking over-pampered english fairies.

Ha, the funny thing is that England are the most overrated team there. How can they be 11th without qualifying out of a group with 13th (Croatia) and 25th (Russia). With the possible exceptions of Greece/ Isreal. Isreal never should be 20th and Greece are only that high up cause they won Euro 04 but I suppose they deserve it for winning a major trophy.

As for USA they have a decent team and they will give England a good game, I reckon a draw. USA always do OK in the World Cup I think their major problem is that they dont play enough competitive games against good opposition. Whos do you have to play to qualify for the world cup? Canada

I remember that...

My gramps watches national and international soccer/football all the time and talks about it a lot, according to him one of these recent years the US actually had a ton of good players but lost because the coach decided to play the newbies starting out. Against a very good team (Venezuela or Argentina maybe), who had their top guns out.

Two summers ago, I went to a match in Belgium (it was Andernaut (sp?) versus I forget which team). Great crowd, exciting game, yadda yadda.

Last summer, I went to a Red Bulls match in Giants stadium. Wow was that depressing...

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I totally forgot! I saw Man U play this local Japanese team to a tie last July while I was in Yokohama! Now THAT was cool.

this comment goes to show you know jackshit about football. yes Fifa's rankings are a it flawed, but not in the way you say. Ghana,Spain,Scotland and the Ivory Coast are all very good teams.

i'm a Scotland fan, in our Euro Qualifier group, we had Italy(world champs),France(world runners-up) and Ukraine(world 1/4 finalists). we came 3rd and just missed out on qualification(there were 3/4 other teams in it aswell). we beat France home and away.

now you talk about qualifying, who have USA have to play. the best team you have to play is Mexico. Mexico's hardest team is USA. that is why you always qualify every time. that is why the both of you are high in the rankings. to qualify in Europe is a hell off a lot harder. England failed to qualify for Euro '08. now they should off qualified, but it just goes to show ho hard it is, even Israel could off qualified with 2 games to go in Englands group.

Donovan's 100th US Cap. Who cares who wins?

When i seen your EXC I thought someone was copying you because you changed your avi, I preferred the old one reminded my of McDonalds goal :D but I like not to think back to the season before

Anyway on topic, I never really thought that Donovan was as good as people made out. But I suppose he has scored 35 international goals looking at his stats and he never really was a proper striker if you get what i mean. I was surprised to see he was only 26 seems like hes been around for ages.

1. It's 'ECX', not 'EXC'. That's like 5 times you've gotten it wrong...

2. I may have to change my avi back, as my animated gif doesn't seem to move off the first frame.

3. Donovan is extremely talented, but he's stuck in the MLS. He needs to play in Europe if he truly wants to be a 'superstar'.

Sorry bout the name, but I dont ever remember saying it wrong before. I suppose Ive never really seen him (Donovan) play week in week out only in the odd USA game. If hes as good as you say he is then why doesnt he move to Europe? Is he commited to LA or just their wage budget? Or is it his family?

You've done it a couple of times in Forum Games, but who cares. I just figured out it's 'Fircoal' and not 'Firecoal'.

Anyways, I honestly have no clue why Donovan is still playing in the MLS. He's by far the most explosive and dangerous player on the US National team, so I'm sure if he wanted to play in Europe then he could.

I seen scotland being thrown around. Can I jsut say that there euro 08 performance was some of the best football ive ever seen. It was a damn shame that they never qualified as they worked so hard to get so close to qualifying.

ESPN has devised a brilliant plan to only show the game on ESPN Classic. I do not get ESPN Classic. Many people who live near me who would watch the game do not get ESPN Classic. So none of us will be able to see the game. And that is why football can not grow in the US. Show the game on a station everyone can get!

Actually, out here (in Wyoming at least), soccer is about the equivalent of football (American), especially among the younger kids. Though there are Junior and Senior High School teams that do play soccer, though by Junior High most of those that are still really into soccer, are in Blizzards.

Tell your cable company to get espn classic for crying out loud, its not like its espn U or anything, it should be pretty standard.
