Euravision - Anyone Watching?

Postby cairnswk on Sat May 24, 2008 5:53 am

Any thoughts on the Euravision Song Contest this year?
The Russian Dima Bilan has my vote so far....only half way through the second semi finals tonight though.
We a day behind here in Oz 'cause of editing on SBS. ;)

You are lucky you don't live in Greece. All day long everyone talking about the Eurovision in the TV and how good we are, and how much everyone wants us to fail and our "allies and enemies". God, I can't stand it anymore. And we spent so much money to send the singer and all those useless well-paid bastards that went with her. I hope we totally fail and never ever again send a song to the Eurovision.

Same, though we didn't spend that much money.

Basically, anyone taking this contest serious is going to lose.

I thought Greece should've won. The whole thing's become a complete farce. Even when Britain enters a half decent song they just don't stand a chance.

I always enjoy it right untill we get to the Bloc voting. Once you can predict where each vote is going to go it just gets frustrating. Myself, I thaught Turkey deseved to win, bizarre how it dropped straight down from first place at the start.

The Brits of course got the 'ol bottom of the pile as always. Our song wasn't anywhare near the best but it should have got a few higher than it did.

eurovision has to enjoyed for what it is, our drinking game rules - drink for:

1. key change
2. white suit
3. pyrotechnics
4. unnaturally white teeth
5. sex pest
6. woman with cock
7. man with falsetto voice
8. when voting starts - obvious political eastern block 10 points

we were dirinking shots of rakji and made it as far as 6 songs into the voting until everyone was too pissed to pay attention

russia won. greece should would have won if it had 5 countries supporting it.

too pished to see...

No chance the whole things stupid, yet strangely hard to take your eyes off of. I say that UK should split up into seperate countries for Eurovision that way wed at least have Wales as well as Ireland voting for us and maybe England too. Plus I think that England would then get the disrespect that UK currently has now from some of the other nations, and we would get treated a little better.

On the bright side at least we tied for last.

did anyone see france!?

i actaully laughed at their patheticness, this is what they said:

presenter wrote:and next is france. theyre very confident about their performer and have high hopes for him, here he goes...

and then this freak arrived with a beard and a long coat, in a golf caddie, with 4 fat women singing - also wearing beards and overcoats
and that was their best person!

our (english) contestant was crap!
he was a runner up off the X-Facter about 2 years ago
