Rick Roll

Postby bedub1 on Fri May 23, 2008 3:16 pm

How did this start out? Why is it still funny? Does anybody like the song? Why didn't meatspin have this kind of following?

I opened my doors and windows, turned my stereo up real loud, and Rick Rolled all my neighbors. Anybody else have any good ones?

I like to jump people late at night and shout the lyrics while I beat them mercilessly.

Hide a portable stereo somewhere a lot of people walk by and put the song on a loop?

Like any other meme, on 4chan.
Because it's not old for us yet.
I like it very much.

And meatspin is much older and a bit more offensive. It's naked, so that rules out most anti-pron communities (like this one) and it also misses the recognizability of Rick. Basically, it's more accesible for the whole internet (like lolcats) and also rather recent which due to the ever increasingness of the internet made it bigger.
"Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill."

Duane: You know what they say about love and war.
Tim: Yes, one involves a lot of physical and psychological pain, and the other one's war.

Whats 4chan?

The best way to learn about 4chan is probably to browse it yourself. I think there's a wiki as well, if you'd prefer.

Welcome to /b/.

I was feeling adventurous and clicked on /h/... goodness gracious I say, and I didn't even understand anything of what they said, but I guess plot isn't very important for that particular genre anyway.

There's no such thing as anonymity anymore, just ask jay about NWO and he'll tell you.

I'll take your word for it. I wouldn't want to start questioning the higher ups, that's unpatriotic.
