I believe in playin fair

Postby Slicer on Fri Nov 03, 2006 7:18 am

I've been playin war type games since i was little and I've always tried to use chivalry and respect. I admit my record isn't good here but my bro Jargo The Axe taught me to fight this way. If you think that's wierd pm him and challenge him or just ask him. im sure he'd be interested

Well... The game engine allows for certain moves and doesn't allow for others. That, together with rule # 1 and # 2 is the ethics in my opinion. I don't violate the two rules, but I play to the limits of the game engine. Doing anything else, well...

This is a game played for little more than bragging rights. To be unethical in this game (or any game) proves you are a complete dweeb with a self image that is so poor it is amazing you can get out of bed in the morning and likely you believe that there is no other way for you to win anything. Winning without ethics is a hollow victory and you only hurt yourself.

In life as in games if you are unethical it will surely come back to haunt you.

If you play to the limits of the game engine, that means that you play without etics

Do you mean good sportsmanship?
I'm confused!
But that is often the case.
Be pleasant to your fellow players, honour your agreements and enjoy the game.
Those are the ethics I abide by.

ethics

Postby mathgeni on Sat Nov 04, 2006 12:04 am

technically all people here play using ethics- but as ethics is defined as a set of moral principles the ethics around here vary- many people's ethics do not rise to the standard that many people would require to consider them ethical- as far as i am concerned with regards to CC the ethics should be as follows- 1. don't join a game if you aren't going to play in it 2. be polite in game conversation or don't participate in the conversation 3. honor agreements- if you can't honor an agreement as simple as those on CC how can you be trusted to abide by anything you ever say 4. don't stop playing in a game because you have come to the conclusion that you are going to lose- most people would rather see you lose putting up a fight than have to wait for you to miss your turns 5. have fun- there is no money involved in winning so play nice and have fun- if you don't have fun why do you bother playing(that is a rhetorical question for you to ponder silently- i don't care what the answer to that question is so don't post it as a reply)

Do you find things like, two on 1 alliences, and etc. part of your game code of war or not? do you find it a honorable thing to do? etc.

For the life of me I can't understand why we even care about this...
I mean come on people, does it really matter if someone speaks with an accent?
And so what if some members eat food with alot of spices.

I think it is crazy that this is even an issue because --- what? --- are you sure? --- ethics, not ethnics? --- oh --- um........... nevermind.

I hate ppl who miss there turn and come back with doubled and tripled army, especially in no card games, its like using bonus cards.

Also hate ppl who dont fight til the end and give up halfway.

I think ethics includes taking advantage of the game engine ... ie. timing moves and such to gain an advantage, such as cornering an opponent in a game and playing perpetually to gain more points later.

Well i agree with the respectfull part, and i'm allways fighting 2 the end.
And i agree that in fact honour rule #1 & #2 is naturaly because i dont like cheating, and there is no honour with that.
Yes i'm ethical abbout agreements, but all this is not a game code for me.
Its just the way i'm, i think if a man makes a agreement than its honourable to live up to that.
I formed a alliance, i could easaly destroy my ally, and cash the points, but not me, i made a agree ment so ill keep it two, even if that ments i will eventualy loose the game.
How ever i think i go for the no vote, because in fact there are CC rule and possibility's, how you played out your possibilitys is your own RISK.
breaking a agreement is not cheating, it is dirty and honourless, and i wont forget some one who did that, but its legal so its therefore not cheating.
