RANKED WINS/LOSES
let me make this very simple, i think that the way points are distribute should be that
1st loses points to none but earns from every one
2nd place earns points from all but 1st and loses points to 1st
3rd loses points to 1st and 2nd but earns points from 4th etc
this should go until the end of the chain, that way everyone after the midway rank (ie 3rd in a 5 person match) will lose points and all above will either lose less or even gain if they were the underdog.
WHY:
because in he current ranking system placing 2nd and placing last are rated the exact same. This is wrong because the entire purpose of the ranking system is to say which player has a better chance of winning a game, so if one places 2nd in a game and one places 7th, the person with the position of 2nd should receive less penalty, than the person who ranked 7th, because that would better represent the probability of that player winning in another game, hence enhancing the purpose of the ranking system.
ps another option is to reduce the penalty of losing as u near 1st place. so currently the the equation used is (loser's score / winner's score) * 20 we can make it so the penalty is reduced as u near one by making the equation something similar to (loser's score / winner's score) * (10+position) position referring to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc so last place loses more than 2nd (if they had the same score)
