Negative rep question - missing multiple turns

Postby owheelj on Sun Oct 29, 2006 11:28 am

Is it ok to give somebody bad rep if they miss three turns in a row - I don't mean a n00b who will never show up again anyway - but somebody with a relative amount of experience (a sgt I think)?

I don't really think that's trivial. I think all of my last 10 games have had at least one player kicked out for missing 3 turns - many have had more than one person. I've only played 16 games too. Maybe that's the case with all my games. I'd like to avoid playing these people if possible.

Last time I went on a trip I warned people before I left and apologised - and then made an effort to take my turns. Not that I really cared about winning or not but because it sucks when people deadbeat. I think that's good manners.

If you know you are going on vacation you should stop joining games about 2 weeks before you go.

Yeah I tried that but this game went for a long time - it was the only game I had left playing. I won like the turn I got back.

missing three turns and dying isn't negative feedback time.
This is: missing 2 goes - then taking your go and having your armies multiplied (every go the player managed to acheive this during a game)

I'm too lazy to check right now but I believe you can't leave negative feedback for missing turns it's in the feedback guidelines...if you don't want people to get multiple armies kill them off......it happened to me,I had computer problems missed a bunch of turns yes it may of helped me in some games but most games it was a disadvantage

So what about a game like one I'm in now, in which we have one noob deliberately skipping every other turn to get bigger armies, and another noob apparently deciding to respond in kind. (And both raping me, but that's beside the point. ) Who gets the bad feedback?

the guidelines say, "Do not leave feedback for trivial things like missing a turn".

to me, a turn is different than 3 turns w/o explanation

definetelely you should leave an explnation if you've missed turns, and if the person dosen't instead of jumping to conclusions you should ask them in game chat what's going on.I missed turns and had 40-50 games going missed an apology in one game only b/c I forgot to click the box for team chat and didn't notice and was accused of doing it on purpose.

Resign Function

Postby Skiman on Wed Nov 01, 2006 4:04 am

There should be a way for a player to resign and be immediately kicked out of a game, rather than deadbeating and slowing it down for 3 days

Yeah, It's called spreading yourself very thin, and attacking till you only have one army on every territory.

You should get kicked out of the game if you miss two turns in the whole game - second missed turn should be out. How often does somebody miss 2 turns and remain in the game?

A LOT! check out delkins12's games for example. But i am in full agreement, at least to the point that if someone misses a total of 3 turns they should be kicked out, 1 is understandable to a point, 2 is pushing it, but 3 times? you're obviously either, not paying attention, don't care, or are doing it on purpose.

EDIT: for the record, i have never missed a single turn yet.

I don't think missing three turns for no apparent reason is grounds for any kind of negative feedback. That's how the game is built, man. Everyone gets 24 hours. Miss three turns, get kicked out. Those were the rules when you signed up. So if you're leaving negative feedback for someone who has been subjected to those rules, all you're saying is, "You've annoyed me and I'm going to get my own back by complaining about it." This seems frivolous to me.

the problem isn't missing 3 turns in a row, i agree, that is not grounds for negative feedback because you get punished by losing your points (except for terminator games where you don't lose your points after deadbeating), the problem is missing more than 3 turns and continuing to play because those 3 times were not in a row.

why do people get multiplied armies if they miss turns? dont you have to conquer something to get a card? People shouldnt get extra armies for missing turns- they should forfeit the armies they would have gotten for those turns if they dont use them ON that turn! right?
