That they managed to recreate the magic of thier first two albums after such a layoff is just amazing. I highly recommend any of the youngsters on these boards that are into electronica or anything dark and moody go out and pick this one up. You wont spend a better $15 all year long.
Any one else had a chance to grab the disk yet?
Ive Been working on the portishead tour leg in London, for a live band they suck generally, but me and a crew of loud mouth riggers, we STF up for the entirety of the gig, Beth Gibbons voice was one of the best I have heard in a long time, she made my hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
Although the band is not geared up to dance to, they had the sub bass and top end sound tuned to perfection, and Jeff Barrows after having several years long divorce hanging over the songs added his sorrowful woes to the compilation.
Check out Machine Gun, rather odd, but amazing loud/live
