Concise description:
- It is against the rules to conduct secret strategic planning outside of the game window; although you can say anything you want in any given game's chat window (within reason), you are not allowed to discuss or make plans concerning a given game with other players involved in said game through private messages.
- In order to prevent (sometimes unintentional) abuse, I suggest disabling messages sent to players participating in an active game in which you are involved.
Specifics:
- You will not be able to send private messages to other players involved in the same game(s) as you are until said game(s) conclude, even if you are eliminated before the end.
- You will be able to send private messages to any other players not involved in a current game in which you are a participant.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- Any two or more players who seem to magically coordinate their activities without using the in-game comment box can fairly safely be labeled as multi-players (or they're using email or telephones for coordination, which is also against the rules).
- Forcing players in the same game to communicate using the in-game chat window rather than private messages so that everyone involved can see (in the case of non-team games).
This seems like someone should have suggested it already.
