Grand Theft Auto 4

Postby AlbroShlo on Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:36 pm

So what does everyone think of the long awaited GTA4?

My first impressions were that he walked way too slow and the cars handled terribly. Now i'm at about 15% complete and I must say the story has made me laugh out loud a few times. Maybe the driving and running skills will improve as the game go's on. Post any likes or dislikes you fuckin peasants!!

It's the same thing but bigger, again. I mean, it's a good game, an excellent one, but I kind of got over Grand Theft Auto half way through Vice City. GTA III was revolutionary, and I bought it primarily because I could just drive around and kick ass. I mean, I guess I could do that in an even bigger city now, but I've already had my fun and have moved on. Considering that I only got a 360 about a month ago, there are reams of games I'd rather own.

I've heard tell that you start the game driving a car, and the very 1st thing that everyone does is drive onto the pavement/sidewalk and mow down pedestrians.

Major dislike- you cant buy it anywhere in the UK...

I pre-ordered over two weeks before it came out and Amazons estimated delivery was 6th-7th may :| so I ordered it off of play instead.

The multiplayer is the BEST!!!!!! You and other fight in vast areas of the city. I mean it's so big its like a man hunt, which is still really fun. You get to blow up the guys car, boats and helicopters. It's just like one player except with live people.

yeah it is. Miko found out this guy was screwing Romans girl and executed him. I laughed quite a bit at that point in the game.

Cars handle terribly?... That's because it's a bit more realistic than previous games >.> Not entirely, but moreso than others.

Driving at 90, 100 mph, and it's hard to steer.

Walking is walking, too p_o Can't expect him to run 30 miles across a city in an hour <_<

Anyways, good game. Like it a bit better than the previous ones.

GTA 4 taunts me like a mirage taunts a desert pilgrim.
To clarify, Dapper Tom bought a 360 today, but insists on only opening one game a day so that he doesn't ruin his excitement at getting new stuff. However, in instead of cracking out the big-guns first, he has scheduled GTA 4 for Tuesday. This means that it lays on my living-room coffee table, glistening in its mint cellophane packaging, beckoning to me yet forbidden. Like a beautiful damsel leaning from a balcony, but far from my reach. Even Prometheus could not begin to fathom my pain.

I weep.

Way better than the previous 3 versions. The online mode is absolutely brilliant. I haven't a clue why I'm on here posting.

It's awesome, especially the multiplayer.

Well it's not my money, my brother bought it and brought it over here.

The missions are hilarious too! And the whole thing makes me giggle all the time.

I got it :D play.com is awesome its out of stock everywhere and they get it to me in three days.

So their I was all excited about to start playing, I have to wait like 20 mins for the thing to install onto the hardware then it says starting new game in the bottom corner for like half an hour. So i reset it and try again it freezes again. So i looked up the problem on the internet and it tells me to turn off the network connection, I do that and it works perfectly.

Its an awesome game, I prefer it to the old ones there is as always in GTA an endless amount of things to do. Has anyone tried the sixaxis tutorial with the helicopter its bloody impossible but fun. (ps3 owners only)

The only problem is now I cant play online because I have to have the dam network disconnected to play :x

if you don't have a job get off the computer and go get one.

if you're too young to get a job steal the money from your parents wallet.

if your parents don't have a job then move out now and break the cycle!!

As do I. I covet it with a passion.
One thing that irks me, though, is how Niko (the new protagonist) leans to the side while running to change direction. Seriously, who does that? Do robots even do that?

$60? over here its more like £60, which is about $120. Anyway, I live in a rural village, there arn't any jobs(and if i took up one, seeing as i only have a couple of hours a day when I can garuntee i wouldn't be doing schoolwork, losing that time would be rather self-defeating).
