Wow, it seems a lot of people like Indian food...

I find Pataks' pastes are good and they make it is easier to cook good Indian food for those of us that don't have all the necessary spices http://www.pataks.ca/ http://www.pataks.co.uk/

I love Indian condiments too....we have a nice big fridge that handles a lot of condiments...I normally have about 5 different chutneys on the go at any given time...

Plus a variety of BBQ sauces, mustards, relishes, peppers, antipastos, etc. etc.

There is a Portuguese pimento paste that I love to marinate blade steak (yes, blade steak) with for a day or more...oh man, it is awesome...even just fried in a pan...but better on the BBQ or broiled...

I like Vietnamese and Thai food. I have a close friend (of over 25 years) who is from Laos...some of their food is awesome...they usually have sticky rice with their meals. I love sticky rice with Laotian food. I haven't been to any Laotian restaurants and I am not sure if there are any around....but I've been lucky enough to have been invited to many Laotian meals and I can tell you, try it if you get the chance. A warning though...if they say it is spicy hot, believe it! Proceed with caution...

Beef Wellington...almost anything with Hollandaise Sauce...sure, pizza...Wiener schnitzel and sauerkraut...oh man, a reuben sandwich!!

Okay, I love food. And while somebody expressed that he "eats to live" or whatever, I really think that it is worth taking the time to cook something good or going to a good restaurant instead of just throwing stuff together or getting fast food...

Ok, if you are going to throw something together, try this sandwich:
- light rye bread, slightly toasted and lightly buttered
- prosciutto (sliced very thinly of course...)
- melted jalapeno havarti cheese (microwave it for about 20 seconds or so in a bowl) (regular havarti will do, but I like a little spice...)
- a few slices of tomato with fresh ground pepper and a dash of salt
- a ginger and garlic chutney or spread is optional

Ok, so you look at me and say "Prosciutto??? Havarti?? How the hell can you go wrong?!?!?!?" I agree. Heaven in 5 minutes.

Eating is one of life's greatest pleasure. I sincerely think we should all slow down when we eat and enjoy the food and the company....every day.

I'm not a picky eater, I'll try anything once. As a consequence, I have a lot of "favorites".

But I stay away from the slop produced by most of the main fast food chains, sticking to smaller "mom-and-pop" shops and a few of the major chains. On the whole, I tend to not eat a lot of fast food anyway.

Even plain faire like oatmeal with brown suger is good stuff.
