HagarTheHorrible and JimBeamAndCoke- Not a multi? [busted]

Postby GabonX on Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:18 am

NHey, I'm not using the form because I'm not sure how it would apply to this situation...

I'm currently in a game with a player called HagarTheHorrible who claims that after reporting that him and his brother (JimBeamAndCoke) shared a computer they were both banned. I am confused as to why these players would be banned after coming forward and stating that they share a computer. I'm posting this topic here because they cannot and as far as I know it is not the usual site policy to ban players solely on the grounds that they share a computer. I've checked and they have not played any games together so clearly it is not an issue of abuse against other players.

Perhaps there is something I am unaware of here but if there is not these two players should be given access to the site again. If anyone wants to see the conversation in the game we are playing it is below...

Our evidence showed Hagar was also playing JimBeam's account. Something Hagar admitted finally after initially trying to lie about it. Even if they are two separate people (that is also in question), there is confirmed evidence of one person playing two accounts for an extended period of time, which is a violation of Rule #1. As I told Hagar already, if he wants to appeal, then he can fill out an eticket (located under the Help tab up top). Etickets is available to everyone, even those who can't use the forums or PMs.

These two accounts are busted.

There is the possibility that they are one person obviously but I posted this topic here to bring attention to it in case they are not. If one player was playing the other account for an extended period of time I see how this is damaging to their case but account sitting is legal so their are still more questions here than answers.

Also, I'm a little bit thrown by your decision to change the name of my topic from "HagarTheHorrible and JimBeamAndCoke: Not a multi?" to "HagarTheHorrible and JimBeamAndCoke [busted]". I feel like this is an attempt to keep members of the community from becoming aware of this case and I find it to be in poor taste.

I'll carry the message on that they can submit an E-Ticket but the problem with the E-Ticket system is that a player never knows which moderator they are dealing with or even if their ticket has been read. If someone in this position submits an E-Ticket and the same moderator who initialy banned them handles the E-Ticket then it really doesn't do them any good.

All the E-tickets I have submitted the mods who answered them have signed their name at the end.

The title was changed to busted because they are and the case is closed as far as this thread goes. We don't try multis in the court of public opinion, rather based on the actual factual evidence. I shortened the title b/c there is a charactar limit I thought it would go over. Obviously it didn't go over, so I rearranged it. "Hagar" was previously told he could he appeal and how. All multi appeals are handled by Andy. Anytime anyone appeals anything, it is bumped up to another person.

Account-sitting is only legal when done on a temporary basis. It's always been suggested to not account-sit for anyone you live with, because then it becomes almost impossible to tell if it really is two people. I appreciate you've taken up their cause, but the facts in evidence here are overwhelming and clear.
