Indian models are more likely to be lighter skin colour

Ever noticed that?, from bollywood movies to ms universe models to news broadcasts alot of the indian women are a white or creamy colour as opposed to the darker skinned women of india?, anyone got any reasons as to why? i think it is the same or similar to alot of other south asian countries or possibly asian countries.

Or maybe they think they're cleaner or something, I live near quite a few Bengalis and alot of the lighter skinned women and girls don't wear a headscarf (they're muslim) and are free to do what they want, though the darker skinned ones wear a headscarf and it restricts their' chance of a good life and education compared to the lighter skinned women.
