Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Postby reminisco on Sun Apr 06, 2008 12:16 pm

Can. Not. Wait.
have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

well, it IS a sequel.

you can count on the fingers of one hand, maybe two, the number of sequels that were better than the first. here's a short list off the top of my head:

Aliens
Terminator 2
Empire Strikes Back (although not REALLY a sequel)
Blade 2
X-Men 2
Superman 2

I feel like second parts of trilogies shouldn't really count as sequels. I mean, Tolkien wrote Fellowship of The Ring knowing full well he was going to write Two Towers; hell, he released them the same year. The same surely cannot be said for "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" leading inexorably to "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo".

That said, I can't wait to see this movie.

Speaking of unexpected sequels that have the ability to be awesome, Count me as waiting 2 years for this one

i agree with you 100%, and fucking sweet!

another Super Troopers! i love those guys, despite the disappointment that was Club Dread.

lets hope they weren't kidding at the end of Beerfest when they announced Potfest...

you know... Guillermo del Torro is directing The Hobbit right now, and if you go to imdb, you'll see that he's signed on to direct The Hobbit 2. i have no idea what that'll be like -- maybe splitting the novel up into 2 movies?

either way, i'll be there opening night.
