I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Well I don't think I ever cried during a movie.

- At the end of Armaggadon when the dad sacrifices himself to save his daughters husband. The little speech in the end was pretty sad

- At the end of The Untoucables when the cop sit at his desk packing things up to leave after Al Capone was found guilty. The part when Elliot looks at a picture with all his closest friends and partners having a meal at a table. Every single friend of his on that picture was killed during the case against Al Capone. It was pretty moving when I watched it.

Gone, Baby, Gone
have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

There are so many...

Cast Away when Helen Hunt runs out into the ran to tell Tom Hanks how she still loves him...I actually let out an audible sob in the movie theatre...

Some of these I forget for sure if I cried...but chances are good that I did:

The Green Mile
Forrest Gump
Philadelphia
Little Children
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Titantic
I am Sam
The Shawshank Redemption
Million Dollar Baby
Platoon
The Passion of the Christ
The Natural
For Love of the Game
Freedom Writers
A Few Good Men
Terms of Endearment

All these movies are highly recommended.

I cry at too many movies...either because I am a sensitive person...or because I am an emotional wreck. Probably both.

really? i mean, really?

i saw that picture in the theater, but only because i hadn't read any reviews and i'm a big Sam Raimi fan.

but For Love of the Game was so maudlin... however, the baseball scenes were great. some of the most ably filmed baseball action i've seen on the silver screen.

John Kinsella: Well, good night Ray.
Ray Kinsella: Good night, John.
[They shake hands and John begins to walk away]
Ray Kinsella: Hey... Dad?
[John turns]
Ray Kinsella: [choked up] "You wanna have a catch?"
John Kinsella: I'd like that.

"Field of Dreams"

Yeah, this is the part where any man who played catch with their old man starts crying.

On a side note, the worst I've ever seen my wife break down and bawl is at the end of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". When the ghost say's "You'll never be alone again", I better have a box of tissues ready for her.

There is only one scene that has ever made DaGip cry like a girl. The compassion in me always wells up whenever I see this clip!

When I was pregnant, damn near every movie made me cry.

I just watched Away From Her - that made me cry. The Notebook made me cry. I Am Legend made me out right bawl like crazy woman. Stephen King's The Mist was horribly depressing and made me cry. I have watched a long string of depressing movies. then we watched about 30 minutes of bacterium and almost cried from boredom/horrible movie, and a waste of time.

i'll say it again.

the first time i saw Gone, Baby, Gone, i shed a single tear when Patrick Kenzie capped that cocksucking child molester in the back of the head. i was in a VERY white bread, art house theater, and said with a choking voice, "yeah motherfucker, that's what you get!"

it was really emotional, for some reason. the end of the movie was really sad, but i didn't cry at the end.

and i knew it was coming too. i had read the novel before seeing the movie. but it was still so emotional seeing it on screen. like, mourning for the boy that fucking waste of life had raped and killed and joy over the execution of that pederast...

if you haven't seen the movie, you really should. it was one of the best of last year.

you know, the novel was written by Dennis Lehane, the same guy who wrote the novel Mystic River, he's also written the best episodes of The Wire.

i'm a huge fan, if you hadn't yet guessed. i wish i could write stories as heart breaking and complex as he does.

(and there are few things in life more gratifying than seeing a pederast get the holy living shit kicked out of him, even if it is a single .45 round to the back of the head)

I will have to check out some of his books. I saw Mystic River quite awhile ago.

The last scene from The Lord Of the Rings: Return of the King, when Frodo gets on the ship to leave middle earth made me well up. The way that Merry, Pippin, and Sam looked when they realized frodo was leaving. I actually got angry at that point because it didn;t seem fair that after allthey went through that he had to leave them.
