I personally think everyone will fear a lethal meteorite coming and start thinking it's the end of the world. Will have sex without condoms HIV/AIDS and STDs will infect everyone, as well numerous murderings and crime because of the anarchy, the large losses through murder and the spread of countless STDs are rapidly lowering the population, the meteorite does not come and humanity realises it is fucked until there is not enough people to carry on the population. i say that one day, ninjas will all develop obsessive-compulsive disorder, and will not be able to stop once they have killed one person. There is a strong chance that humanity won't end. Space travel hasn't really moved on a great deal - but I'm sure, by the time the huge asteroid totals virtually everything on the planet (or when Yellowstone erupts, and does the same, but with some incredible news footage before we croak it) that we will be in a space a lot more to wether out a global 3 year winter, and return to start again. Then as time goes on - we will be friends with the Vulcans, have the odd run in with some stormtroopers, keep outwitting the borg and generally putting it around in a size.

Okay, but the thread was "how will humanity end?" That entails all of humanity, not just one dumb dude. For him, the world will end, but for everyone else, it will go on. Am I wrong?

Humanity is merely a concept of the here and now. Once we cease to be what we are now, humanity as we knew it will end, and a new, possibly brighter, likely darker, humanity will arise from the old. We don't notice it because we are picking our nose, or some such task.

Think of it this way. When you are young, your brain has a massive number of cells that are connected willy-nilly all over the brain. As you age, unused connections die off, leaving only fertile, working connections. The cells of your body are constantly dying, sloughing off, and being replaced. Our very corporeal existence is constantly changing throughout these processes. Which of these stages or beings would you consider your humanity? The answer is, of course, who you are now. But who you are now is not who you were then. So what happened to that "essence" of "humanity?" Did it not die? You are who you are, not who you were, and who we are is a fleeting moment, impossible to recognize it as it is happening. So, alas, humanity is dying, but it is also being reborn, and that, my friend, is the rub.
