What has been the best part about the soap opera that is the Democrat Party? Remember these are the same people who want to design a national health care system.

Another high-quality thread in which bradley explains why the republicans are never wrong or hypocritical.

(Hint: It's because they're cavemen.)

The most entertaining part is that basically no matter what the Democrats do from now until November, there's no way a majority of Americans are voting for John McCain.

Knock on wood.

What's worse:

Obama's ties to the racist, Jeremiah Wright Jr.

or

McCain's own racism, shown in this quote he said himself "I hate gooks." He later backpedaled and said that he specifically meant his 2 prison guards, like any reasonable person would believe that. This is a disgusting quote in two ways. One, if he hadn't used the slang, it would be, "I hate Asians" which I don't need to explain why that would be wrong for him to say. Two, the fact that he used the slang in a statement of his own, shows his capacity and acceptance for racism, because he chose to use that word, he wasn't quoting someone else to make a point of how it's wrong like I am using it. So even if he truly had been talking specifically about those 2 guards, it'd still be racist and wrong because he is generalizing a whole race based on those 2 guards.

Why is this not getting a bigger outcry? If he had used the N word in that statement and then gave the flimsy excuse of meaning 2 specific guys somewhere that wronged him, his political career would be over.

mods: sorry for the use of a racist term but I am using it to prove a point, to replace it with something else would take away the seriousness of the racism in that statement.

The thing is 'Nam vets used the term "gook" to describe their Vietnamese enemies, not as a racial slur. While it no longer can be compared to calling the Germans "Jerry" in WWII, it is understandable that when thinking back on the matter McCain might have a slip of the tongue.

Actually, Luigi, I tend to describe myself to strangers as a reasonable person, but I feel that McCain could easily have meant no offense to anybody but his captors when he made the "Gook" comment. You could even argue that, even if he meant no offense to anybody but the North Vietnamese torturers at the Hanoi Hilton, it's still a reprehensible statement, but it's well within the realm of belief that John McCain does not hate all Asians or all Vietnamese and would not call them "Gooks".

I think that the open primaries are hillarious! As every Republican that is voting Dem is voting for Hillary to screw up the DNC.

And Obama isn't a racist, but McCain has shown himself to be. He is a politician, he needs to watch his mouth. If I call Mike Tyson an N-word in a room full of black people, what do you think would happen to me?

McCain is a racist old angry fart of a crazy man with no idea on economic policy!

Just watch this video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDuirJaVzS8

Then check out these vids on Ron Paul on CSPAN back in 2007 questioning Bernanke:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVCStbbI ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8pLpI5r ... re=related

If the ECONOMY is the number one issue on the AMerican plate, why in the f*ck aren't you guys supporting Ron Paul?

The guy for saw the coming fall of the dollar back in July 2007, when Mr. Smart Finincial Guy Bernanke said he didn't.

If anyone deserves to be in charge of this country right now it is Ron Paul!

God Help Us!

But Ron Paul wants to switch back to the gold standard. That's pretty much the opposite of what we need right now.

Actually, I've never seen you make a point, bradley. Snorri, on the other hand, makes them aplenty (Note that I didn't actually say you never make points, like you said to Snorri, because that would presume that I actually read most of your posts).

What a load of horseshit, that's utterly untrue and you no evidence to support such an accusation.

Seriously Bradley, why not try making some points of your own, instead of just trolling about insulting people whose views you don't agree with. We'll all get along so much better that way.

It's funny how bradley's main point of discussion on the boards is about 'lefties' or 'democrats' and how they apparently never make points or have decisive arguments in debates.

You think he has a mirror on his computer screen and hasn't yet realised he is referring to his mirrored image?

I would never vote for McCain for alot of reasons, but just so we are clear. If someone locks you and all your friends in a bamboo cage partially submerged is swamp water for two years, torturing you daily, feeding you just enough food to keep you alive, and randomly killing you friends, you might be justified in hating those people and the entire nation that condoned those activities.

So unless you are going to turn the tables and say that all those poor guys (no sarcasm) in Guantanimo and CIA camps around the world shouldn't hate the U.S. and all Americans, lets cut McCain some slack.

Keep the double standards to a minimum.

1. you can't accuse me of using a double-standard when I haven't said those guys in guantanimo shouldn't hate the US

2. No matter what has happened to someone to cause them hate a particular race, it is still racism. That being said, someone who is held as a prisoner by asians can certainly hate them all, everyone has a right to their beliefs. But when that person is running for President, I don't think racism is a good quality, no matter what influenced it. So since he is running for President, the leader of our country, no, I will not cut him some slack

No, what you've again failed to understand is that he was referring to "gooks" in the way that all US combat servicemen did in Indochina: that is, to describe their AVN and NLF enemy. If you can't understand this semantical subtelty, then not only should you "cut some slack" for this hero of both your country and the Cause of Freedom in the Glorious War against Communism and Social-Fascism, but you should shut the f*ck up.

I have no idea who William Paw is. I did hear about the Ferraro remarks. It seems that she is still saying that she's not sorry for making them but resigned just to get the attention off of her. That's sad that she feels that way.

Bradley you're way off on the racist pastor thing. Obama has already made a statement that he doesn't share Wright's views. He is also having a press conference tomorrow about it. I think you should at least be open minded enough to listen to what he says tomorrow.

OK, I think this should have been a really easy year for the Democrats to capture the White House. Instead of just taking advantage of what they've been given they have instead been victimized by their own silly rules. I'm talking about the Superdelegates.

The point I keep making with these threads is that these people think they have the right to set up a federal health care system. They're not going to ask people to join it but rather force them to belong. Based on the fact that they can't even come up with good rules for their own nominee why would anyone trust these people with their health?

You can't deny that they are pretty much tearing each other up.

Well..I had kinda thought Ron Paul was the Friedmanite economist's choice candidate, but a fully automatic gold standard...I'll have to research his exact policy better. I wouldn't put it past statist bastards to have waged a full scale slur campaign against him in MSMs.

True, even though I still think they'll win, the democrats aren't doing themselves any favours by drawing out this race.

Uhm... Obama is not forcing anyone to get healthcare. Except for children, which I think is quite logical because denying them healthcare because their parents don't want it is horrible.

Still, basically all they have to do is look at europe and see how it is done.
