Consider all periods in history.
Wouldn't it be great to hang out with Jim Morrison and Jesus?
Or Einstein and Socrates? Although perhaps these 2 would make me feel feel like even more of an idiot.

that depends if they were referring to the game known simply as 'checkers' or the totally different game called 'chinese checkers'
you might want to go check out the difference between the two some day
Despite being called "Chinese checkers," this game does not actually originate from China or elsewhere in Asia. It is also not a variation on checkers or xiangqi (also known as "Chinese chess"). Instead, the name originated in the United States, when an American tried to make the game sound more exotic, and the game itself was invented in Germany in 1893 under the name Stern-Halma, as a variation on the older game of Halma.[1] The "Stern" in "Stern-Halma" refers to the fact that the board is star-shaped rather than square as in the game of Halma. The game was mostly introduced to Chinese-speaking regions by the Japanese.[1]
