Non-premium accounts asking for rt games

Postby deltaray on Mon Mar 10, 2008 10:34 am

I"ve been in two different 2 player games with a non-premium account where the person asked to play rt. I assume this means Real time and that the person is trying to avoid having to pay for an account so that they can play speed games.

This annoys me and I tell the people to buy an account if they want to play a speed game. I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions on it.

Anyone can go in callouts (forum or chat) and ask for a realtime game, whether premie or not. That will always be an option for everyone here. We'll never require anyone to get premium (provided they weren't caught cheating). Speed games are a different beast.

As a paying member I don't see a problem with that.

These members are more likely than not to be younger and have less money. I put this forth as a generalization... hence the phrase "more likely". I know it is not always so.

One of the risks for these people is that one player has to go.

They are then stuck... and unable to make a move for 24 hours.

This then takes up one of their four games.

So they don't pay... yes... but there are limits to what they can do.

I don't begrudge the free games.

Though I think they have no right to bitch about people having to leave the RT game cause RT Life gets in the way.

UMMM..... What??

Speed games are fairly new, and b4 we had this great option, RT games is what everyone played. It did not matter if you were preemy or freemy. It still does not matter . Speed games is a privilege of being a paying member, but RT games are open to anyone willing to sit at the comp for an hour or 2.

What would you do, ban people from enjoying themselves? Sounds selfish.
Just because "Jimmie" showed up at the baseball field without his own bat, does not mean he shouldn't be able to play. There are plenty of people willing to share. Perhaps you didn't learn this skill, perhaps your one of these guys that think they are better then anyone who is financially unable to afford the same toys as you.
I imagine you also agree with the idea, that fremies should not be able to join games with premies .
People like you should be ashamed of yourself. Perhaps one day you will not be able to afford the newest toys, and someone will tell you, that your not welcome because of it. I sincerely hope that this does happen. It might give you a bit of a less selfish and arrogant attitude. :P :P 8)

I don't have a problem with it. I can play (lose, I know- I said it before you did) as many games as I want so even if they up and take off to get high- that's what kids like to do, get high- I can just keep on playing.

And it's good advertising for the site, I bet a lot of people end up joining to who wouldn't if they couldn't try before they buy to a degree. And it's good for the kids, it keeps them off the streets, it keeps them off the dope. So it's good for America. And what's good for America is good for the world.

I bet you feel pretty silly about your objection now, don't you, Leon Trotsky?
