What a tremendous influence Gary's game has had on all our thinking, imaginations, and, to some extent, computer programming. WoW wouldn't exist without D&D. D&D laid the groundwork for computer RPGs. Hit Points/SavingThrows/To Hit/Ability Bonus'...all of which were only calculated with pencil and paper, now computer programming has taken over (I myself would rather play old school).
D&D really reminds me of my youth, and how much my Mom hated me playing that "Devil Worship Game", which only made me want to play it even more!![]()
I remember my very first player character (before the personal computers came around, we used to call the player characters PCs). His name was Kha'zel the Demon Eyed. He was a human assassin (AD&D first adition).
I spent every single day studying these books and learning every damn spell and their components (it was fun, but now I see it as a total waste of time, yet strangely I have the urge to get into campaigning again if I can find a D&D club or something?)
Then when I thought I had learned everything there was to know about AD&D, TSR decides to put out a 2nd Edition! Oh boy! Now I had to memorize brand new rules and spells!
RIP, Gary! You will be missed. Now you are with the Great Dungeon Master in the sky!~

My point is that people use D&D as a flame on a Risk website and that is just hypocritical. Weak.
