When I heard the title, I thought, "Wow! That could be good!"

Then I saw the trailer.

I'm gonna give it a great big NOPE!

I totally plan on seeing it.

How many movies do you watch that are historically, culturally, or realistically accurate?

Zero is the answer.

Watch the movie for what it is... enjoyment.

I've watched Kingdom of Heaven twice. The first time I pissed off my partner throughout by pointing out intricacies like the fact that Legless is attacked by Assassins wearing the costume of a Knightly order which didn't exist for another few decades, the completely inverted portrayal of Sybella, the bizarre way in which he apparently knighted the every man in Jerusalem etc. etc.

And the second time I just watched it as entertainment.

And it was still shit.

serves you right for watching it twice.

My wife teaches old and new testament at a conservative baptist college. She was trained at Harvard in a traditional academic setting. The old and new testament courses are standardized so they gave her the curriculum, course outline and all that stuff, she doesn't get to teach what she wants.

It was hard on her until she got to the final exam for the new testament class.

Get this - the final exam was to write a historical critique comparing the Mel Gibson's "Jesus the Christ" to the 4 gospels in the new testament.

We had a good laugh at all the papers that were turned in. This semester, just to point out to the faculty how silly the curriculum is, my wife is allowing the students to watch Jesus Christ Superstar instead of Jesus the Christ to see if the papers get any better.

Yes, but the Teutonic order, who used the white field with a black cross (the tabards worn by the assassins), formed in 1192.

I know. Crusadeds et all... that's why I spelled En Guard.

Back to subject: 10 000 BC looks like a cheap knock off.
Actors, story and animations... We have all seen that film before.
