Yes well, you can't really expect an early twentieth century jury to be especially sympathetic to anarchist Italian immigrants.

Not that it's right. I personally think that they were innocent, but such is life.

It doesn't even really matter. The fact that they were convicted in a sham trial by a clearly prejudiced jury and a racist judge should have cleared them. You can make a compelling case for innocent or guilty (although in my knowledge more compelling evidence exists for innocence) but you can't argue that they deserved execution, which is what the question should be.

The ballistics tests were actually done again in 1961 with new technology which proved Sacco's gun fired the fatal bullet into the Baradelli, but it is still unknown if Vanzetti was guilty (I don't think so). But anyway, I am doing a mock trial in one of my classes & was hoping you guys could raise some good points, but I guess not...

Link? Does the judicial district have a homepage or something?

i don't know who these people are, but judging by their names I would have to say yes, they were probably guilty.

Ha, I did a mock trial for this too when I was a freshman. It's been 4 years, so I couldn't give you any details if I wanted to, but I remember that the prosecution did a really horrible job and I (as a witness) was verbally beaten by the defense on the cross examine.

Anyway, if my teacher hadn't have gotten the false accusations of sexual harassment and had to move to protect her children, I would ask you if you were in the same class I was.

/edit: then again, you might be in a class at the new school she teaches at....

Who's your teacher?
