As long as they didn't want trouble I wouldn't care who they are. If they did want trouble I'd shove them off the doorsteps and slam the door (emos) or persuade them to bother my neighbors (chavs).

i guess so, but it doesn't apply to all emos. not all cutters are emos and not all emos are cutters. another example would be stoner skaters.

Emo's. For a number of reasons.
1) I'm called emo at school.
2) We pretty much listen to the same music (unless they listen to mainstream shit)
3) Chav's.. Would bore me out of my mind.
4) Normally emo's have a higher intellect than Chav's.

There you go.

 Dad time as in "Hey son, come over here so we can have some 'fun'?

Also, 5 isn't necessarily correct.

You hate the word emo now? Then why (in the very small amount of information that one can display on a message board) do you live up to every characteristic of today's definition of emo. Myspace-esque photo avatar, all black clothing and stylised fringe, and a my chemical romance signature to boot!

Bring back early to mid 90's emo. You didn't see flocks of them at the train station looking exactly like each other, and they weren't caught up in this bullshit consumption based subculture that today requires either an Atticus shirt or some equally shit Blink 182 owned merchandise - Incase you kids haven't realised, but 'rebellion' and being 'alternative' has been sold to you as a commodity, and thousands of little teenage moroons are lapping it all up. Remember kids, you're only 1 shop away from buying an entire image and subculture!!

Also, early to mid 90's emo's music was a hell of a lot better than what emo is considered now. It's completley different music. Go listen to Jawbreaker or Built To Spill.. amoungst others.

I've never heard of 'chavs' before, being in Australia I guess, so I can't comment on that too much.

Quark. Quark.

That reminds me of a joke...two sodium atoms were walking down the street, suddenly one sodium atom turned to the other sodium atom and said 'i think i just lost an electron', the other sodium atom said 'are you sure?' and the first sodium atom said 'yes, i'm positive' :D

So you do it because you 'like' doing it, but other people are only doing it to conform?

As I said before, not every 'emo' is part of the 'emo trend'. If they like those clothes and like that music then I don't see a problem but forcing yourself to like the clothes and the music just to be in the right social circle is ridiculous. It's not so much emos anymore, it's more scene kids.... They disgust me.

My dad was in high school in the '50s. He was a dweeb. He was the president of FFA (Future Farmers of America, for those who aren't from rural U.S. American secondary schools... surely muithaiguy knows what I'm talking about.) All the cool guys in his school wore leather jackets, and he wore glasses. He was the State Table Tennis Champion. He had an afro about 20 years before afros were fashionable.

He's so great. Luvskya Pa.
