I know, but ideally, if he's experienced, he should be able to get out of it. Plus we can get an idea of relationships between people.

this is true...hey im all for pressuring someone to screw up. but the advice i gave is just general advice. for noob games

Sounds good to me. I have no intention of lynching anyone at the moment.

Hmm, the deadline is almost upon us and I've got nothing for a good lynch.

Normally I'd voted whoever has the highest amount of votes because ending a day 1 with a no lynch is usually a bad idea, as the scum then basically get a free kill and we get no info, but I'm hesitant to vote ga7 for the reasons LoVo pointed out. Especially in a game with many new players, the experienced guys are quite good to have around if nothing else for their input.

We've got until Wednesday though and this game is pretty active so we can still find a decent lynch. I'm gonna re-read a bit and maybe try to find a good target or even someone who hasn't contributed much (sometimes a good day 1 lynch).

How about Kalishnikov?
Going on my one completed game, in which i was scum, i remember being a) Very keen to post
and b) kept either switching votes or appeared reluctant to vote, whilst always trying to speed people up to get a lynch?

Could have got it completely wrong of course. But maybe Kalishnikov is scum?

Hmm...neoteny was tied for most lynch votes, so he suggested putting pressure on the person with the most votes and voted for the top lynch contender...seems to me that this is an easy way out of lynching....

Then again, he may be wanting to keep his role a secret because it's really powerful for the town. Then again, who wants to keep their role a secret more than the scum?

As of now he has the most votes, I say we lynch him. Worst case scenario we lose one pro-towner, best case scenario he makes a claim and from there, worst case scenario is we decide not to lynch him and he's mafia. Or we could still lynch him and he turns out to be telling the truth, that would suck too. But we could also decide not to lynch him and he's pro-town, that'd at least get us some clues...

I'd hate to be responsible for a town death though, so everyone has to decide for themselves. I stand by my vote for neoteny.

I was a bit worried about coming across that way, but hoped the fact that I was nowhere near a lynch vote would belay that somewhat. All I have to say for myself at the moment is that I was trying to get some conversation going.

Good observation, and if it wasn't about me I'd agree that it does look scummy but my motivation for pushing a lynch isn't based on scummy intentions, it's based on information gathering.

We've got to scenarios ahead:

1) We get a no lynch, obtaining absolutely zero info. The scum know each other and get to make a kill (gaining info). Our doc has no idea who to protect, vig has no idea who to kill (bad idea night 1 anyway but I ALWAYS kill if I'm the vig...) , the cop no idea who to investigate and so forth. Thus, the scum get the upper hand with us a man down (slim chance they kill anyone but a townie, I'm doubtful of any third party in this game).

2) We get a lynch, even if it's turns out to be a townie, we've gained valuable info from the vote process, who condemns the lynch and who pushes, what the actual role was, etc. The scum still get a kill, yes but at least we've got a small bit of info. This early in the game you can trade a townie for info as long as they don't have a power role (which they will claim if they get close to a lynch) as there are almost always more town then scum.

Suggs if you weren't so new to this game I'd suggest that you were scum and making a subtle move to get an obvious townie and experienced player lynched day 1, making life much easier for the scum... A very ballsy move for a new scum player so I tend to think it's nothing more then what the surface says it is, you making an observation, but a tactic I've also employed in previous games as scum. Funny how that works out...

Mark my words, Suggs is going to be an excellent scum player should he continue playing mafia games.

On a side note: my re-read yielded nothing of value so I'm still undecided.

I'll post and such but I tend to not make any votes if I've been drinking as sometimes my faculties elude me (clearly) and I'm still on the fence. My vote will come before the deadline is up, don't worry.

Well after another quick skim through still no one catches my eye so I'll just say vote: Neoteny as he's got the most votes and we should get lynch today, the deadline is slowly approaching.

Ditto vote Neoteny, a lynch is better than a no lynch, right.
