Most overvalued and undervalued continents.

Postby gavin_sidhu on Mon Oct 02, 2006 6:56 am

I was just playing a real time on the Europe map and noticed how over-valued scandnavia is. 5 countries, 3 of which are bordering and it is worth 4. Compare it to Africa, which i think is the most undervalued continent, which has 6 countries, 3 of which is bordering and worth 3.

What does everyone else think is the most overvaued and undervalued continents?

Take a look at the Tamriel map... you can hold Summerset Isle, Hammerfell, and Skyrim by fortifying just three points. That's 13 armies bonus! Expanding from Hammerfell to Skyrim or visa versa necessitates no increase in fort points, same with Hammerfell to Skyrim, making them all natural and relatively painless expansions.

The only balance is that everyone starts gunning for you as soon as you get close to it.

Yeah, my first thought was the Tamriel map as well. I think every continent on there is overvalued, especially with the possible additions of embassies. Any time I play that map I get dominated by someone who manages to caputure Hammerfell/Skyrim and expand across the whole left side.

The nice part about Africa is that all 3 border countries are connected. So whenever someone breaks into your continent its really easy to recapture. The same is true for most of Europe (except the Iceland border). Whereas a continent such as North America has 3 borders spread far apart so they can't reinforce each other. Overall I think the classic map is a model of balance, but maybe that's just because its the model for most other maps :P

asia. impossible to hold coz of everything but mainly coz it borders oz which is already a fortress. whoever holds oz tends to win unless someone pulls of somethin clever

i say that africa should have 2 borders: North Africa and Egypt. I mean cmon... who holds africa successfully with like 10000 troops on nearby brazil, and it has a whopping 6 countries.. by the time you take all those, you're dead meat anyhow.
