Negative Feedbacks and Ignore Lists

Postby artyu on Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:53 pm

Hi there Moderators, wanted to know what do I do about people leaving me negatives and putting me into their ignore lists for not understanding my moves. I got 2 very uninteligent feedbacks lately you can read as an example of some players' attitudes here

For negative feedbacks you can fill out an eticket. As for their ignore lists, I would think you would not want to be in any more games that involve these people given the way that this game ended.

Negative Feedback

Postby nath21 on Thu Feb 14, 2008 5:48 pm

You killed the wrong person in a assasin game and you suicided and admitted it in the game chat for the other negative. You deserve both comments and anyone seeing this should add you to their own ignore list.

I ask the mods as a player this is the type of information is what players want to know about other players and this should stand.

ignore list

Postby artyu on Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:31 am

well you might be right about all but this:
1. why do you say anyone reading it should add me to their ignore list?
don't we all do mistakes? you want nobody to play against me just becasue I did a few mistakes out of 1000 games?
look at the purpose of the ignore list:
"If you find yourself in a game with someone who offends you, simply add the member in question to your Ignore List and his/her comments will disappear." (the Rules page)

2. my two negative feedbacks are not right in my opinion.
they do not meets those guidelines of feedbacks:
"Leave only fair and factual comments that relate to a specific game."
"Do not use foul language."
"Do not leave retaliatory feedback (i.e. leave negative feedback in revenge of negative feedback)"

killing someone in an assasin that isn't your target deserves some negs.

nah not really. a neutral would do well enough IMO. It's obvious he didn't do it on purpose, just didn't understand the game type. Why saddle him with a negative for making a simple mistake? A neutral you can leave and no one worries about it anymore.

All you can do about an ignore list addition is PM the person after a period of time when they've cooled off and explain you were new and ask them to remove you. However, there's really so many other people to play here, being on a few ignore lists isn't really a big deal and shouldn't keep you out of too many games.

If a feedback breaks a guideline (they're posted under instructions up top), you can fill out an eticket requesting it's removal (located under Help up top).

Anymore questions, ask away.

artyu,

People like to abuse the ignore list, and your case is a classic example of this. The only thing you can do is abuse it right back. I have over 1 and a half pages of people on my ignore list, and that list is growing proportionate to my score. People will eventually regret ignoring you if you ignore them, then set up speed games when you have a high score.

There is no way to abuse the ignore list. It's personal choices of who you do and don't play with. No abuse, just choice.

Ignoring someone they don't wish to play is not abuse. It's a choice.

You like to constantly push this idea that it's somehow just wrong for someone to put another on the ignore list. It's not wrong. It's no different than real life - there are people you might not want to spend some recreational time with.

It's really that simple. Why would you even want to play with someone that doesn't want to play with you ?

To the original poster - if you want off that person's ignore list, trying simply contacting them and asking to be removed. If not, there's nothing to be done.

i killed someone else's target in an assassin game and received a neg.

ironicly I later won an assassin game someone killed my target.

I left the guy a neutral comment "thanking him for killing for target and letting me earn some points."

i can go either way on whether or not someone deserves a neg for doing. In most cases the person did this is caused by momentarily going brain dead, which happens to every human being.
