Don't worry, I'll be there to educate them :)

But I mostly agree!

The last few games with the regs here have been pretty inactive, like pulling teeth to get people to post, I'm looking forward to 'fresh meat' for once. Perhaps the new players won't know my tendencies to get a scum role 3/4's of the time....

To all you that say 'too many noobs, blah blah blah,' thats the reason games are dying here, the regs are getting burned out trying to carry every game. We should be encouraging new players, hell maybe we'll even find a couple new players that are decent...

Speaking as a n00b, i think this is a great idea. :D

I've got a few questions for you guys on how you would like the mafia game.

1. Should it be elimination, or standerd.
2. Should I give subtle hints in each crime scene like the style of kill, weapon of choice etc so that it will hint to killer.
3. What should the day and nght deadline times be?

Ok but you should know your mass effect to even have a clue of what the hints are.

What kind of clues? Based solely on mass effect and hinting at the roles? Or hinting at players as well? Well not everyone knows mass effect however I suppose that could be looked up, but I don't think many would get it unless they know the theme well. If it's on players too I'd suggest not.

I'd say leave the day deadline for now as you can always implement one if things drag on. As for night I'd suggest minimum of 48 hours and 72 hours at most.

Umm Ill do hints towards charecters in the game. So those who caught on to the hints can use that as proof or a building block. Besides this stuff
can be looked up at MassEffectWiki.

I strongly recommend a Day deadline, or the game is almost garantueed to die prematurely. Every game without a day deadline hits a stretch where nobody does anything because they're out of clues, and in a game with so many newbies, that will be fatal. I recommend something like 96 hours, give or take a day. 48 hours should be good enough for the night.

At the risk of sounding like a noob myself, what do you mean by eleimination versus standard?

That actually would be a very good idea, the only problem is you've gotta be a member of the group to post and read the forums so just to get a simple answer to a question you'd have to request membership, wait for approval, then you could get your question answered. For those that aren't in clans, the joining process can sometimes be quite lengthy.

This is a good idea though, possibly worth looking into (not by me though, lol. The Mentor Program is enough of a karma boost for me, thanks.) I'll answer questions but I'm not setting up/organizing anything else.

ANY NOOB MAFIA PLAYERS: feel free to ask any questions you like either here or in a new thread or via pm, I'll gladly answer to the best of my abilities. I'm not the best player around but I've got probably 30 or so games in so I've seen most things.

Oh and you're idea of adding clues to the scenes, I'm all for it. Fair warning though, it's harder then you expect to make logical clues and not give away to much. I've played a few with clues and pretty much no one picked up on them.

And as far as a deadline goes, I'd recommend leave it open for the first game day or so and put one on if it's needed (96ish hours as Koesen said would probably be good, 48 for nights). If we keep things moving there isn't really a need for it but if we start slacking you can impose it at any time, that's just how I like it, feel free to do whatever you like though.

Personally, I'm ok with 72 hours. I only suggested 96 because most people seem to need more time. But I'm all for putting pressure on everyone.
