Stealing elimination mid-turn

I just had someone swipe an elimination out from under me that they would never have been capable of without my armies having eliminated all the other countries... and I don't mean that I wasn't able to finish, we're talking about a freestyle game and I was still playing, so in the middle of my turn he/she began their turn and took the last country of an opponent, taking the elimination and the cards It felt like a dirty move to me, assuming that they did it on purpose, but I'm wondering if I'm alone in this? The question is... do you consider this a dirty move by someone taking advantage of the freestyle mode when there are only 2 players left in the game, or is this just excellent strategy in a freestyle game?

Just FYI, I don't mean this post to be bitter in anyway. Yes, it did piss me off at the time, but in the end when I asked him about it, he did point out that he realized I was about to win the game... so, could I really blame a player for a last-ditch effort? Nah...

ah well, guess i might just be a bitter card-whore then I'm gonna have to remember that move in desperate times... it was his only chance at that juncture to come back in the game

you should keep one of their territories away from other people, so that you can come back and eliminate it last, that way it will be harder for someone to snatch it out from under ya.

Yeah, thats what I realized in discussion with said player. He pointed out that if I had knocked out the adjacent country first, it wouldn't have given him that chance... plus freestyle... in the end it just made him very observant and a really good strategist. Just goes to show I'm willing to learn new tricks Took me aback at first, but now I see it for what it was... we'll just call it "tough love" - ha

Stealing a kill is the art of freestyle. That's what you should always be aiming for, if you can't set up a kill by yourself.
You want to watch Prankcall in the later stages of the game- he's mastered that art (as much as it sucks to write that...).

a lot of good freestylers that base their sole strategy on steals-- Jade Empire being one..... Paddy was one but getting to good where he doesn't need to steal anymore. He gets stolen from

I've started paying even closer attention to who has the possibility of playing at the same time I am when I'm in the middle of eliminating somebody now And adjusting where I begin, when applicable, of course...
