I found a free software called winFF. trying it out now. could've used this in the ER the other night... even though they had cable in the rooms, not much on overnight.. lol. oh well, i'm sure i'll be back, so I want to be prepared!

converting a full length movie from AVI (xvid/divx) format to a format the ipod will play is gunna take forever on your computer. I guess about 4 or 5 hours.

I recommend purchasing movies and tv shows from itunes. Or you can pickup a spare computer and have it convert the movies....

If you want to be perfectly legal.. do that :P

otherwise... limewire (/any other bit torrent stuff) is good for free movies :P

oh, and just cause iTunes can rip an audio CD and put the MP3's on your ipod, that doesn't mean it can rip a video DVD and put the movie on your ipod. Hopefully one day they will support that...
