Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.... [not spam]

Postby wcaclimbing on Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:42 am

Apparently, the sentence:

Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.

Is gramatically correct *twitch*

Wikipedia article about it [clicky]

Does it confuse you as much as it confuses me?

Learn from Humpty Dumpty! my weight loss role model):

!Words can mean whatever i want them to mean".

So, yes, thats grammatically correct.

[Buffalo buffalo1]-[1i.e those buffalo from Buffalo, NY] [2which other buffalo from Buffalo]-[2Buffalo buffalo] [3buffalo]-[3i.e bully] buffalo3 [bully] Buffalo buffalo [1/2].

So, bufallo from bufallo who get bullied by their fellow buffalo from Buffalo in turn bully other buffalo from Buffalo.

The City of Buffalo, New York was actually coined "Beau-Fleuve" by French explorers, which means "Beautiful River."

Nothing to do with the animal.

And, as a matter of fact, there really is no such thing as an "American buffalo" rather they are "bison." The "water buffalo" exists in Asia.

It's something like Oh Be A Fine Girl, Kiss Me (Right Now Sweetie) used for stellar classification.
