So Flex,

Is there anyway we can put our name in the hat for coaching positions next year...I would really look forward to turning around my alma mater! Washington State...Go COUGS!

Hi Everyone, go ahead and request your slots for next season, and I will confirm a couple weeks before the season starts with who you have...give me a top-three list if possible. Here are the priorities for reserving teams next year...

1) Returning to the same school
2) Returning from this season
3) Rank

*In the above case, we already have a Washington State player, so (lostatlimbo) would get first shot at Washington State...if he doesn't want it then it would fall to you...if two returning players are vying for a team like Duke, Kansas or another elite school, the higher rank will get priority.

I plan to pm everyone a couple weeks before posting the league next year, so when it is opened up any returning players should have their spots already nailed down (if they want).

Notre Dame with a dismal season ends its last regular season game on a good note defeating Cinci on their home court.

Every year, crazy things happen in the Missouri Valley Tournament. This year is no exception as Southern Illinois gave Missouri State a run for their money in a 13 Round thriller, but the Bears defeated the Salukies.

K-State knocks off A&M in the first round of the Big-12 Tourney....Quarterfinal matchup with Iowa State might be delayed to a blizzard that has over come Manhatten, Kansas. AKA- My computer is broken at home I may not be able to access the net till Monday Morning...I hope that is still with in the NCAA's regulatory sanctions on lay off time between games!

Flex,

I have an idea. I know this would probably make things harder but if you were looking to have a lot more teams next year. We should just allow people to be in conferances based on their rankings. I know this would put me in a low-tier BCS or Mid-Major but also make it more enjoyable for my self...cause this season was frustrating to me...but any who this is just an idea let me know what you think!

Basically, I'm giving first-choice to coaches from this season to return as the same team next year or to put in for their top couple choices if they want to switch to a new team. After that I will open it up and we will go by rank for the newcomers with the power teams going to Sergeants and above, while the cadets and such will get the lower-tier teams.

As a returning coach, you could choose either to return in a power conference or if you like be moved to a mid-major or small conference.

By expanding teams next year (hopefully) I plan to make more of the mid-major and small conferences available.

Kansas eliminated Texas from the Big 12 tourney - This will hurt my seeding now but hey just got to win out now....

I am in for next year - Texas Longhorns - Is there really any other options :D

The conference tourneys have been updated

Postby flexmaster33 on Sat Feb 02, 2008 3:35 am

The conference tourneys have been updated through games completed Friday night and pms sent out to newly formed quarterfinal games...those who have advanced to the semifinals will have to wait a few days for their upcoming matchups.

Also, remember losing in the conference tourney doesn't end your season...we still have the NIT and the March Madness tourney ahead, and everyone will qualify in one of the two brackets.

So much for being a #1 seed in the conference tourney.....my opponent is going first with a bonus territory already. Yikes.

Only a handful of games wrapped up Saturday, so I'll post new brackets late Sunday night...an update of Saturday's action can be found on the blogspot site...and pms have been sent out to the two new Quarterfinal games.

You can also look for tournament updates in the CC newsletter put together by Gozar...contact him if you are interested and not signed up for it yet. It comes out once a week on the site and I think through pms

Arghh!!! One and down in the Pac-10 tourney for me...good game Coninefan...you deserved the win. I don't think a .500 record and an early Pac-10 exit will sit well with the committee...hello NIT :(

Oh well.

Also, conference tourney bracket have been reposted with updates through games Sunday night.

How about those Giants...that catch by David Tyree at the end was one of the best plays I've ever seen...wow  =D>

Game 1729831 Iowa State defeats Kansas State after an unfortunate 10-second (24-hr) penalty against Kansas State to begin the game. Iowa State feels very fortunate to avoid the quarterfinal round upset in the Big XII tournament.

*I'm taking suggestions for improving the league next season.
Here are ideas I plan to install...
1. Maps will be limited in 2008 to favor better 1 vs. 1 play (no more doodle earth, pearl harbor, age of realms, etc)

What does the etc mean?

When you have time please post what you are thinking here.

etc...etcetera

That was a short list of maps I don't plan to use next season, I was taking open suggestions from other players if they came across maps that they didn't feel worked well for 1 vs. 1 play...just let me know.
