Territories and bonus armies

Postby sanosuke on Thu Jan 31, 2008 3:00 am

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I think it is. Here's my question (note: this mainly pertains to feudal war map, not sure about the other maps if this applies):

I know that you get more armies for more territories that you hold, but where are the breaks? Example - +2 armies for holding 3 territories (keep + 2 more) thats part 1. Part 2 is you get 4 armies for holding 8 territories *combined total of everything you control) and then it jumps to 5 at 12 territories. Where is the break? The reason I'm asking this is so that I do not waste armies taking over additional territories when I only need to take over 1 or 2 to get that extra bonus army.

I hope this makes sense to someone who knows. If I need to clarify, please say so ^_^

Thank you!

Yeah made no sense.

You get 2 armies per territory you have which is inside your castle territory. For instance if you had 4 armies in Rebel territory you would get 2 bonus armies. :)

Ok, I'll try to break it down a little better.

To start you get a bonus of 3 armies (for holding 2 territories)
First round you take over 2 territories in each starting empire
Start of 2nd round you are now alloted 4 armies for holding 6 territories

What I'm trying to figure out is, did I only need to take 1 territory in one of the starting empires to get the 4 army allotment because you get 4 armies for holding 5 territories, or was the 6th territory required?

Hope this makes more sense.

if your new to CC don't start with fuedal war.... but you get 1 per 2 kingdom territories I think and then another 1 for 3 territories anywhere. Confusing just try a diff. map if your new though...

excellent, thats what I was looking for. 1 per 2 kingdom and 1 per 3 normal. I've only been playing CC for about 6 or 7 days now, premium for the last 3 days. I got started on Feudal War pretty early on. Love the map and usually win about 50% of them that I play, so I don't really consider myself a newbie on that map anymore (still trying to figure strategies for maps like Classic where you start spread out all over).

I was just trying to figure out where the number break was on FW, thank you very much for the help ^_^

Yeah that was a good point that was made earlier if you are new to CC then don't play any of the new maps as they are very confusing.

Play simpler maps such as Classic until you are fimiliar with all the gameplay rules and settings.

There are some maps here I do not understand at all, and do not even want to try to understand. This is one of them

/shrug I pretty much only run my business from home with the occasional meeting outdoors, so most of my time is spent on CC...I think I can say that I've figured enough strategies for Feudal War map and played it enough that I could help someone just starting with it. I never claimed I wasn't still a newbie at whole for CC, I just said I'd be happy to help someone with a specific map. Get off your high horse Top Dog.

Contrary to earlier suggestions, I started by picking some of the LEAST popular maps and learning their strategies. Since fewer folks know those maps, I found I won more often.

I also disagree with the previous assessment of strategies.

I group them this way

Maps more or less like "Risk" include the World Map, Tameriel (though watch flag bonuses), Phillapine, etc. This includes Crossword, Chinese Checkers and such that look different, but ultimately have roughly the same strategy as original Risk.

The other main group includes the Age of Realms set, Age of merchants, etc. These have bonuses based on resource groups, and therefore very different strategies.

Still others, like Duck Hunt, American Civil War , Fuedal, Dust Bowl have some features like the original Risk and others that differ.

Then you have what I call "just plain complicated" maps, with lots of bonuses, varying attack routes AND different kinds of attacks -- Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Waterloo, Bamboo, etc.

This isn't a complete list, of course. Look at each map before you play, READ the legend and any explanations provided and go from there. Maybe watch a game or two, if you like.
