The points pot.

Postby Pedronicus on Wed Sep 20, 2006 5:08 pm

I realised the points in CC are just cirrculating in the main.

the only real additions to the points pot are from deadbeats.

Keep points won from deadbeats!!!!!

You just realized that? It took me 2 minutes to figure that one out. The sum of all points is also equal to the number of users created times 1000.
I was a major back when 1600 was major. Now that I'm back, I get to easily win a bunch of games to get my rank. Thank the 'tards here who suck at this game.

This is a little vague Pedro, what exactly is your point?

Who loses points from deadbeats....am I missing something?

I think that Lack is going to stop points being won from deadbeats who havent played 3 or more games.

Seeing as all points won on CC are in a pot - where are the new points going to come from without deadbeat players adding some points to the pot?

It sounds like you're assuming all noobs are deadbeats. Most might be, but surely not all.

That's absurd, if we have wait for them we should get their points.

AGREED. I would have 1200 points if not for deadbeats. Half my doubles games would gain 5 points. The risk vs. reward of new players joining a public doubles game against you would make it impossible for high ranking players to gain points except by passing them back and forth amongst themselves.

If something like this is implemented, then you need to have minimum rank options for games you start.

Now that's a good idea.

Actually that's slightly off due to points lost in doubles break down.

I've yet to get points from a new recruit deadbeat. The points would still increase from people who start playing for a while but then quit. We're already suffering from inflation the way I see it.

Oh but I like the minimum rank option.
