lets pretend everyone has to choose a new religion to practice, or at the very least jump to a different form of their same religion. If you were going to do so, which one and why?

For me i would either be a jainist monk, or a buddist. In a lot of ways i have to imagine there is little to no greater peace than that experienced in some of the forms of both of these practices.

The Soto school of Zen buddhism. I'm reading books about it and may try it out. (though buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion...)

people debate what or what isnt a religion pretty much all the time, its hard to come up with a definitive answer.

Since i rule this thread, you can basically claim anything to be a religion you want. (which will inevitably lead to the end of this thread via spam abuse)

I'd have to go with some form as Buddhism. Or Shinto if someone decides Buddhism isn're religious enough.

Probably the Roman pantheon. The gods did a lot more ass-kicking back then, and all you had to do to get their favor was sacrifice a cow or two. Not to mention that I could win arguments by observing the flight of birds.

Either Lutheranism or Orthodox Catholic. The first since nearly half of my family is Lutheran, and I pretty much know it's functions, or Orthodox Catholic since it is pretty close to Roman Catholic (which is what I am, and Suggs has made a poor generalization about it).

Some of my best friends are Catholic :) (actually, i do know a few and they are the soundest christians i know-its the Protestant fundamentalists that wind me up).
But you i generalize, but isnt it true ie guilt, confession etc

LMFAO

I'm sure daz will have a bit to say (or won't, as he stays out of politics/religion) about the protestant fundementalists.

Though I disagree, the band still rock, even after Dave kicked everone out back in 2004 to reform the band later on.

Hopefully, UA won't be the last album.

If I had to pick another religion than I would have to pick scientology. The way I look at it is if I am going to throw away all my beliefs and subject myself to hell, I might as well go out with a bang. There's no better way to condemn myself than to subject myself to the beliefs of scientology.

It's a good thing I won't have to worry about because I'll never change my beliefs anyway.
