Just need some place to post this for later reference...(posted at Foxnews.com 698)

Well, as much as they tried to make Ron Paul look foolish, may it be said that with 32% of the vote (even though it was barely mentioned and all the time went to talking about the other candidates) America has spoken! Second place went to Thompson at 22%. I would believe that the debate had a lot of viewers so I find it odd that this makes the 3rd debate that Paul has won (according to the vote) yet he comes in 5th place in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Something doesn’t add up. I think its safe to say America is waking up! And that means there are people starting to get nervous. The reality is, we the people ARE NOT SCARED of terrorists as much as we are an out of control government! For freedom and Liberty, Go Ron Go!

Oh, and to address the moment it looked as Ron was trapped in a corner, ā€œWhat he was reacting toā€ was Huckabee saying, ā€œthey will be staring at the gates of hellā€ and Thompson saying, ā€œI guess they will meet the 71 virginsā€. Just wish Ron could have read my thoughts at that moment. Nice try, but unsuccessful guys!

Sorry to see you jump ship Da Gip....to bad really, Ron Paul was right on target tonight with one minor mess up that I corrected in the above post.

Do you remember when the reptile-controlled media fabricated all that evidence and paid those two Washington Post 'journalists' to say that Nixon was a crook? And all because he was wavering on, er, vietnam, or something?
jay, whetever you believe about these results - and frankly, that could be anything - the reality is a million times worse.

Exactly, RP's problem is that his policies are unrealistic. What he wants is just not possible, since the world has evolved since the Founding Fathers' time.

I don't know about evolved...more like hijacked, but it has been that way for so long, the only way to change it would be to have another Civil War! That would really suck! You are right, we have a lot of differences in our world today the Founding Father's didn't have to put up with and our government is reflecting those changes to suit its survival. I still won't get a computer chip implanted in me though!

DaGip, the constitution is mostly followed, with the exception of the right to privacy, which most people have a problem with (its intrusion I mean); and the right to bear arms. The reason we say the world has evolved since the founding fathers is because the way the 2nd Amendment is written:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Now when this was written, there was no police, no automatic weapons, and most of all, most of the US was at the time completely empty, making hunting ideal it was an ideal pastime).

Sorry to see you go Gip.

But I still feel he's the better choice.
We're going to go bankrupt if we keep continuing what we're doing now so then we will die. Otherwise I feel that it is comparable to Tonkin Bay.I also dont feel the video is that legit.

Ofcourse, you're going to go bankrupt with Ron's policies too. It'll just be sooner.

Aren't you letting Conservapedia influence your position just a little?

I believe he means a lot of things, but the question is...is he right? Would those ideas flurish in the present state of America and world affairs? I have come to the conclusion that it will not, but would put us at odds worse than what we are now currently. His idea about withdrawing from NATO didn't sit well with me when I read it in his book A Foreign Policy of Freedom. Iran is going to happen, it's a given. Just get ready for it and pray (if you don't believe in God, then read!). Ron Paul does not stand a chance in this election...better to choose, what is being said, the lesser of evil.

Much more important, yes.

Wow, DaGip, you're actually making sense. Ron Paul's ideas, while totally not evil, would have bad consequences. He's letting idealism rule his policies, instead of letting them slightly influence them.
Though I'm not so sure on whether Iran will happen, I'll give you that it's likely unless someone rational speaks up about it. (Be it in the government or UN.)

That settles it, DaGip was only on the Ron Paul train for the conspiracy theory whackjobs, and when Ron Paul gave a rational answer to a foreign policy question that didn't involve a government plot, he decided to hop off.

Oh well, the message never involved conspiracy theories, and it's certainly still there

But he IS the only candidate who combines a peaceful and non-aggressive foreign policy with a conservative fiscal policy.
