If you babysit an account, you cannot start any new games on that account. And if they start a new game on your account to increase their own points...that is quite definitely cheating!

If this has happened to you, document everything on the cheat and abuse form.

Pretty serious, I would say. I would fill out a form and submit it immediately in this forum so that I or someone else doesn't get this guy to babysit for us!

Unwritten Rules
Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games, intentional deadbeating, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts.

Here is CC Unwritten rules to conduct...you just shouldn't do it. Hijacking an account to increase one's rank and points is completely considered cheating. Babysitters are not supposed to start any new games!

Another serious note, this guy could get you in trouble for being a Multi! So I would report it right away, right now.

If he's winning- not that bad!
If he's losing- pretty serious!

On a serious note, don't listen to Ga, if you really feel that he is overstepping the boundaries, simply PM him, and ask him to either a) stop, or b) quit watching your account (since you're back!)

If he continues to do it, change your password, and, if he hacks your account, then tell someone on the staff!

Dude! You cannot babysit someone's account and then start new games! Especially to start games so that you can use it to increase your own rank and points! You missed what he was saying, this guy is starting games not to increase the owner of the accounts points but to increase his own accounts rank! This is total BS. I guess you can pm the guy and tell him to stop it, but the guy just screwed with your points and rank to his own benefit...that is deserving of a report as far as I am concerned.

He can be Multi-ing against other players then. I would PM the guy then, and recommend that he stops doing it. The owner of the account should also get involved.

I guess since you are not the owner of the account, you really can't do anything...

Hmm, GA, just so you know, this was solved WITHOUT involving the moderators, allowing them a bit of peace and quiet, not having to deal with this case of "I didn't realize what I was doing"

As a tournament organizer, I cannot wait for people to come back from holiday and delay the whole tournament. Therefore I always request the baby-sitting party to join any new games, while main account is away.

I don't see how that can cause any problems???

Temporary account babysitters are allowed to join TOURNAMENT games, and tourney games ONLY. There was a problem with people joining non-tourney games, so we made this clarification. Since tourneys are often a long-term thing and deadbeating a tourney or making others wait creates problems, we allow this exception to the policy.

The nature of a babysitter is a temporary situation, e.g. a few days to a week maybe. It is NOT OK to let anyone take over your account to use your premium or get away from their old name or anything like that. If we see a "long-term" babysitter has taken over an account, we'll shut it down.

If you're unsure if something is legal or not, please do PM a moderator FIRST and we'll advise you. That's what we're here for.

If anything is unclear about what I've posted here, please ask.

15. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Account babysitters should not start or join new games, with the exception of tournament games.
