Tim Horton's Brier

Postby spidey on Sun Jan 10, 2010 12:05 pm

This is going to based on the 2010 Tim Horton's Brier. That is the big curling tournament in Canada, for all of you outside of Canada that don't know this. Curling is a 4 man team game and so will this tournament. There are 12 teams and you will play each team once in the round robin. Once we are done the round robin we go to the elimination part of the tournament. The first place team and the second place team get a bye to the semifinals. Teams 3 will play against 6 and team 4 will play against team 5 in the quarter finals. The winners go on the losers go home. All games will be sequential, no fog, escalating, chained with auto deployment. I will let you chose your map for the round robin games but for the elimination round all games will be on the Canada map. Also any tiebreakers will be on that map as well. One last thing before I go, in curling there is usually an alternate person that can step in if someone gets injured, if there is a fifth person you want to add to your team include them as well. I will need to know all players involved before the tournament starts. And for those of you Canadians out there, yes I do know that a curling tournament is called a bonspiel, I just thought it was easier calling it a tournament.

So far I've got 2 teams ready to fight for the Brier, although I don't know how Keiths is planning on playing with two 3rds. I thought him being Canadian, that he would know that you are only allowed one 3rd in curling.

I find it amusing that this is run by a Canadian and the 2 people that signed teams up are both Canadian.

There's like 7 or so of us interested, we still need to decide who plays and who isnt. Can I reserve the quebec team?

No updates from the creator in 17 days, even though I messaged him.
Is he gonna go through with this tournament?

Also, Anyone else feel we should have more instructions? The OP is quite vague.

the teams have been updated. And to answer one of Slayer's questions that they PM'd me about. You will be playing each team once in the round robin, which means you will play either 5 or 6 home games. It is all in the luck of the draw.
