Hey M8, New Players join the Super League every Season.

And luckily for you, Season 5 will start in about 2 weeks. Watch out for the mails and GL!

Hi, Craig:

Thanks for the Super League - it's my favorite ever tournament. Except when I'm playing against Clanlord Carl. I have a problem: I can't open tables - I did for season 2 and 3 but now can't. This shows up "Numbers couldn’t read the file." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Super League Season 5

Postby Yatti on Sun Jan 02, 2022 4:50 pm

League 7 has been a tense affair, with scant regard being given to the seeding and reputations.

Hun1, seeded 5 and goneb4sunrise23, 6th seed, are propping up the table in 8th and 9th place respectively, while TheFanny is struggling in 7th, despite being second seed and a favourite for promotion.

Fc1966 is also underperforming in the early part of the season but is now pushing towards the top. Mikehayes, wombat4 and ky11aw (seeds 3, 9 and 7, respectively) make up the sandwich filling between top and bottom.

Eighth seed and favourite for relegation, Yatti, did nothing to prove the pundits wrong in the early stages as he was rooted to the bottom of a nine-team league. Doing his best impression of a Norwich City or Newcastle, a drop to division 10 seemed inevitable.

The only thing in Yatti’s favour were games in hand – he had more of those than Craig has typos in a typical update.

A series of illnesses kept the game count low but as recovery from illness happened, so did a recovery in form and Yatti began to pick up pace quicker than Max Verstappen on fresh rubber, motoring past the best that league 7 had to offer.

With three quarters of the season over, Yatti is now sitting pretty in second place, 5 points behind surprise package and fourth seed, Derek the Great.

No longer with games in hand, it will be a tense finish to the season and quite frankly, Yatti could still finish bottom (particularly after the Conquer Gods have deemed this upstarts’ behaviour bad for the game and seems to be gifting Wombat with a 4-0 win, almost before a ball has been kicked).

Only 4 points separate second placed Yatti from seventh placed TheFanny and the bottom two players have games in hand over all the players above, so literally anything can happen.

However, I think it is important to share that, after 12 matches, eighth seed Yatti is dreaming of a two league jump instead of a three league drop.

Craig, I must complement you on one of your best reports to date, in today’s summary. However, you did kind of prove my point about typos in your last paragraph.

“ I was great commentary and I hope you can recover from this catastrophic points deduction Yatti. I hope it does not seem too harsh to everyone. ”

I’m sure you meant to say “It was great commentary…”

Anyhow, I’ll get my coat and prepare to be deducted more points than Derby County and find myself in the basement division…

Hey CH

This is a technical question, but it seems to only effect you as we still get 60-70 Downloads of the League Tables every day.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

It is an excel spreadsheet if that is any use.

For the tournament, League 5 decided to play Baltic Crusade....a lot. With 5 of the 9 players calling home field advantages, League 5 boasts more Latvians than Riga. In an open attempt to mock the ranking system, the Leagues currently put seeds 1-3 in dead last place and awaiting relegation....whatever the hell that word is. But it's apt to change on a moment's notice. The point range is just 16-9 top to bottom...mostly on account of nobody knows how to count any higher in Estonian....or whatever they speak. Not that it matters. We have no idea what the Scotsman is saying either. It's like walking out of Trainspotting. Wasn't that movie great....and I'm scratching my head wondering....why didn't we see a movie in English? But it was awhile ago, as was the last time I heard of scuds from the 1st Persian Gulf war. As with then, a grunt and handing over a pint still seem to work wonders.

As to the unnamed, guzmanuk, is trying with all his might to not be the forgotten middle child and leads the league by a scant whisker. I'm hot on his tail with a fully paid dice premium ready to go. Killerz has opted to use strategy instead, and refuses my requests for him to quit following (and beating) me. CC comes in next and is surging up from a slow start. Nimrod's Son, JJ, marand and Struth all come in tied....Struth having the unfortunate timing of deciding spending time with family for the holidays might outweigh the tournament. (Priorities man). Then we have Mark the Menace, seeded #1. I think the poor guy's highest dice roll in our games was a 4. (Don't get me wrong, he still beat me) Makes it rough for anyone. Ok, gerin's letting me know it's time to go.

G'Morning,

I am trying to read the live table results and am having a hard time finding the metrics that decide whether RYP or myself will win League 22. I figure I send you two quick questions.

1. Do I have a shot at winning the league or is that a pipe dream?

2. Do you get anything for coming in second place?

Thanks if you got the time. If not no worries it'll play out.

You are in League 22.

1st = Promotion to League 19
2nd=Promtion to League 20
3rd=Promotion to League 21

This is all detailed on the right hand side of your League. 6 Players so you are playing 10 Match Ups.

For everything else you need to be specific, but, it is a straighr forward League Table Bro.

League 7 run-in report

League 7 is reaching its crescendo as the final games are underway and still only 5 points between second from top and second from bottom.

TheFanny could avoid dropping a league and actually claim a 2-league jump, if only they can win their last two games 4-0 and wombat4 lose their last game.
Of course, fc 1966 (a great year), mikehayes, kj11aw and even little old me might have something to say about that.

Derek the Great looks to have this sewn up, especially as he is likely to win his last game 3-1 (I am currently being robbed…), giving him an almost unassailable 27 points.

My favourite for second place is fc 1966 (great year), who still has 4 games to finish off and currently sits on 17 points. A draw against me lifts fc great year to joint second but if the remaining games in hand turn to points, then wombat could see a gentle descent down the table.

Like I said, mikehayes, kj11aw and lil ole me are still in the mix with just 1 point separating us. Although, if the tables are updated soon, then I will be up in second place with 3 points to be added to my current 15.

Goneb4sunrise23 could be gone to division 10 before sunrise if he doesn’t start winning some of the games in hand. Hun1 is almost certain of a drop of some sort, with only one game left and two points shy of safety.

TheFanny has the best chance of survival but must win their two remaining games and hope that results help out in the group just above.

To all those no-names in division 5 and 6, I salute you and if I get promoted then you will be no-names no more (if Mr Supertournament Craig continues to publish my updates).

Why is 1966 such a great year? Anyone in England will know that was the year that Ma Yatti gave birth to an 8lb 16oz baby me! Oh, and England won the World Cup.

The Graphics are all Softbelly's work. And, yeah, the guy does amazing stuff.

Also delighted that the Super League has been bumped up to an Event.

And all it took was 40,000 games!! :D

Awesome stuff Craig

I championed you to the department heads from the start. We got there despite Benga showing no interest in supporting you and being abusive towards me. Mad777 took over and things started to happen. So I think we should say a big thanks to him too.

N1 Keefie! Ty for your help.

It made sense to make it an Event, It's a great Tourney. I just need to now get people into running it now!

It would be great if we had someone to be able to cover for Anila8 incase he wanted a rest at some point.

Also another 2 people to do what I do would be ideal.

Interested?
