USC Ousted. Florida, Championship bound?

The answer is almost a definite yes in my opinion. Despite a wierd third quarter Florida put up a very good game against the Razorbacks. Hopefully, the BCS recognizes the 12-1 record over the 11-1 record and the fact that, other than Michigan, no one wants a rematch.

There should be a stipulation that in order to play for the MNC you've got to win your conference. That would put an end to this "Michigan should be playing for the championship" talk and would have also avoided the controversy in 2003 when Oklahoma went to the national championship game in spite of getting blown out in the Big 12 title game.

In a way, though, I'd still like to see Michigan play for MNC. Every year that the BCS screws up like that is another step closer to a playoff system (hopefully).

Damn I hope so. I am going to be SO PISSED if Florida embarrasses the SEC against Ohio State. Especially after all the trash talk I've been putting out on these boards.

there is a simple way of picking one compare the loses michigan lost to the only undeafeated team left and the number one team in the country florida lost to auburn who lost like three games and didnt win convincingly against south carolina

You're saying that if A beats B and B beats C then A beats C. If you at all follow college football, you KNOW that doesn't hold true.

ok so ur saying if u lose to the number one team in the country in the game of the year they dont deserve it more than florida who lost to auburn i could see if they would have got blown out but they lost by 3 Points !!!!!

here's an easy way to decide....

pick the best 64 teams in the nation, split into 4 groups, rank each from 1-16. have 1 play 16, 2 play 14, etc. and find a champ

this isnt college basketball bud u know that would add like 6 more games and 64 is way too many that is a terrible idea

The point is that Michigan has ALREADY PROVEN they can't beat Ohio State. It's time for another one-loss team to have their shot. And again, I say that if EITHER Michigan or Ohio State had to play the schedule SEC teams have to play year in and year out, neither one of them would have the records they now have. And I'll repeat - if you can't even win your conference, why should you have a chance to win the national championship. Get over it. Michigan had their chance and blew it. NEXT!!

florida couldnt even beat auburn and barely beat south carolina i think michigan could be auburn convincingly

64 too much. They ought to pattern it after Division IAA football:

The trick will be to incorporate the existing bowl structure so that the corporate sponsors don't bitch.

good idea. and make it so that the bowls are like they were when they were first created, but make them so that they don't really count, just maybe as exhibitions to see which team is better or conference

Rose Bowl = who's better Pac, or Big 10

Yeah, and Michigan struggled against a crap Penn State and Ball State team. What's your point? And I think Auburn would play Michigan close, but we'll never know.
