Well I was in my school's library when the teachers started talking. We weren't supposed to know what happened but I overheard something about a plane crashing into a building. I learned the full story after school was over.

My alarm went off for me to go to work.. it was set to radio so the news was on... the radio guy thought the first plane was a accident, and was joking a bit about it until the 2nd one hit.

I was working downstate at the time. About 1 hour from NYC. I had worked the night shift and got off work at 6am that morning. I was in bed by 7:30ish am. My alarm went off at 4 pm (set to my radio) and I heard something like this, "3 Planes were hijacked...." and I'm thinking "What the heck is this?". As I continued to listen the attack unfolded. I couldn't believe it. I ran over to a friends to see if they had heard what I heard. We then went to a place that had a TV (as where we were living there were no tv's). And we watched the re-plays of the planes hitting the WTC. A day I will never forget.

And one of the few days I wish I could forget.

I was walking into my 11th grade Chemistry class, the teacher had CNN on the TV and the first tower was smoking. Then the next plane hit and the school sent emails to all of the teachers saying "Don't tell the kids anything, we don't want a panic."

We didn't care, we turned on the TVs in every classroom to see the news. School kinda stopped for that day, and for about two weeks afterward I couldn't close my eyes without seeing the image of that crash in my mind.

Interesting side note, that number that was on CNN for a short time and then disappeared was a Scientology phone number. They were using the tragedy to take advantage of the unease to recruit new members.

I was at camp, we had taken planes to get to the destination. One of my friends who had a parent with him at the camp told me these two buildings in America got destroyed, when i asked him how he told me that he didnt know, thought it was an earthquake or something.

That week was terible, because that same week the airline which had taken us to the camp destination decided to go bankrupt, so we were bused home, all 15 hours on the road.
