RZA to Direct Martial Arts Flick, 'Man With the Iron Fist'

I am even more impressed that RZA has the humility to employ the help of established directors, and filled with confidence that it could be, at best, the greatest martial arts movie to be made by an American and, at worst, the beginning a bright new career for a director who will develop over a few films.

Awesome news. Bring da motherfuckin ruckus, as they say in Staten Island. It's obviously going to be great. He's a very very talented chap.

aka Shaolin. ;)

I just mean that he might need a few films to develop a distinctly individual style, as most newbie directors do. When George Clooney decided to start directing, he got a lot of help from Steven Soderbergh on his film, "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind". And that film looked a lot like a Soderbergh film. Same with Zemeckis on "Back to the Future". It looked a lot like a Spielberg movie.

I will be in the theater on opening night.
