Bad and ugly cars

The Austin Allegro has been voted Britain's worst car - 25 years after production ceased.

Made by British Leyland between 1973 and 1983, the car was plagued with so many design problems, it was dubbed the "All-aggro".

One example of its poor construction was that it was more aerodynamic when travelling backwards than when it was being driven forwards.

A total of 642,350 Allegros were manufactured in those 10 years, with the early versions boasting a rectangular steering wheel.

Hope that worked...

I drove a rusted out '79 Chevette 2dr hatchback for a lot longer than I should have. No traction in the snow, but the most fun you'll ever have driving.

I paid three hundred for it at an auction, and bought it from the original owners children. He had died.....

Anyway the front left shock(dampener?) had been bondoed on to the body.... and busted through right after I bought it. Cheap trick... Then someone at my school took the oil plug out, and the engine seized and blew up. So I had to buy a new motor(it cost me a case of beer, literally). Finally I blew a coil and bought a van. But really, it was the most embarrassing ride I've ever been in, yet still the most fun to drive, EVER.

I was wondering when someone was going to post a picture of the Pontiac Aztec. Ugly thing that is. I'm not sure if this is a Porsche or not, I can't quite make out the insignia on the hood...

I had always wondered why that car failed to do well. I remember seeing it at the NY Auto Show the year it was a prototype, and wondering why it didn't become a prolific sight on the highway.

No one is going to buy a sports car that isn't sporty. Way to go Chrysler.

Anyone remember the colors? They discontinued Purple and offered it in Yellow, Black, and Tuxedo. Were there any more colors? The whole handling of the Prowler was silly.
