The Frenchies are not as cool as kicking the Brits' arse in America...but I guess congrats are still in order.

I really should have said "congrats for kicking out the Dutch!" and waited to see if everyone followed suit, or called me on it.

2 colonies on the same day, that's a real bummer, though the years were different.

well if you locked the "4th of July" post when i asked, you would not have to put up with this like last year.

I'm not sure thats entirely fair.
The Algerians on this site might get offended by being lumped in with the north americans, etc.
And after all, we cant show any discrimination, can we?

Why would all the other independance days have to go together when the US gets it's own?

Well if anyone who's Algerian wants to post a thread, then they can. But everyone else posting random crap they find on wikipedia about what day it may be somewhere in the world will get merged into here.

Also, I think you might have a hard time proving who is Algerian etc, or has Algerian roots etc.

Plus, think about all the Yanks that celebrated St. Patricks Day....should that be merged here, because they don't live in Ireland?
